    New to SWG, TA question

I just ordered a RJ45+ after years of liquid, pucks, and cal-hypo. I read the opening on SWG chemicals and see that 60-80TA is important. I'm currently at 140TA, 7.0pH (and just started airating to bring pH up), 50 CYA, 160CH. I'm going heavy on the pucks right now to bring the CYA up to 80...

closed pool 52F - won't hold chlorine, should I SLAM it?

My pool is still closed for the winter with a mesh cover. I went to pump some water out and noticed some green growing on the steps. No FC... Water is 52F. I started to SLAM, but wanted to make sure there isn't something I'm missing. The quick chlorine test should work at 52F correct?

Passed the OCLT but still using allot of chlorine

Pool got away from me in a rainstorm and river birch dumping seeds in the pool. Started the SLAM as it was starting to get cloudy and using twice as much chlorine with nothing left at the end of the day.. Now 2 weeks later I'm still at slam level, been passing the OCLT since day 3 but the pool...

Preparing to open, but have no CYA in the water..

I got a new liner in the fall and got the water cleaned up, pH adjusted, algaecide 60 in and closed it up and put the mesh safety cover on. So now it's a month from opening and it's apparent that I don't have any CYA in the pool due to the new water. I added chlorine and it was gone in a week...

I let my ph go low, now I have trouble

I let my pH slide low this year down to 6.8. It's been slowly sliding since I opened 2 months ago. I finally brought the ph back up to 7.2+ and the liner got brown stained, the water got a little cloudy and has a green tint. Fc 8 Cya 100 Ta 100 Ca 140 Ph 7.2+ Ascorbic acid test takes the...

Leaves etc..... need a new approach

I would like to try something new to manage leaves. I've been in this house with my first pool for 3 years now. The in ground vinyl pool is beautifully landscaped surrounded by three River Birtches and a Japanese Maple. I keep a solar cover on the pool at night. Unfortunately, in the spring...

Trying to lower my CYA and it turned to a green swamp today

Was battling with pink bacterium a few weeks ago. Using dichlor for the last two years almost exclusively. got rid of the pink bacterium I thought, then it started to come back, had the pool store test the CYA....you guessed it 100+. So I ordered the big test kit from tft. Started reading...
