    Jandy Pump Won't Start

I have an inground Jandy Magnum Force 1.5hp pump and I just hooked up the plumbing in my pool to open it. When I turn on the power all I hear is a loud humming noise from the pump. No water is pumping at all. I did prime the pump. I called the pool store and they said most likely the bearing on...

removing square drain plugs from skimmer

This might be a stupid question. When removing the square drain plugs from the skimmer should I be turning counter-clockwise or clockwise? The pool company closed the pool and I'm having a heck of a time trying to unscrew the drain plugs. I've been using a wrench to turn counter-clockwise but...

    Zodiac LM3-40 Salt Water Chlorinator

I have the Zodiac LM2-40 chlorinator. They don't sell the LM3 in Canada. After 3 seasons, I have had no issues with the chlorinator. It works very well. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to purchase a salt system.

    Removing winter plugs from skimmer

Thanks Guys!!! A basin wrench did not work. I used my plyers to open up the skimmer plug one painful quarter turn after another. I not sure if the pool company cross-threaded the plug in the fall because man it was difficult to unscrew. The other plug for the main drain unscrewed with no...

Best way to reduce chlorine level

A week ago, I shocked my pool after having a pool party for my son. For the last week it has only rained and very little with very little sunshine. I've kept my pool covered and ran the pump and SWG for 10 hours a day. Today, I tested my water and my TC is well in excess of 10. When I added...

    Sealing the concrete

Has anyone put a sealant on the concrete decking around their pool? I understand this may be helpful in preventing cracking of the concrete during the winter months. If you have done so, can you let me know which product you have used? I would assume an anti-slip additive would have to be put...

Lots of rain after pool closure

This is my first winter with a new pool pool. I had the pool company close the pool for me. They drained the pool and the water level was a good two inches below the return lines. Since I don't have any trees in the backyard, I chose not to cover the pool. Over the weekend, we received a...

    Going on Vacation

I have a new inground salt water pool. I will be going on vacation for 10 days and I have a couple of questions on what I should do to the pool while I'm away. 1) Should I leave the solar blanket on the pool and dial up the chlorine level? I will program the pump to run from 6am to 6pm. 2)...
