Does the filter head connect directly to the standpipe?

Yes exactly, No access to knock it out from the top at all so looks like I'll be trying to cut the pipe out gently. Trying to twist it with pliers was just eating into very brittle pipe so if I'm lucky, maybe breaking it in place could produce a crack upwards. Thanks for the encouragement.

Does the filter head connect directly to the standpipe?

So pretty sure you're right but impossible to get out given the 1/2"-3/4" grip I have left on it. Also im able to feel the end of the pipe with my finger in it, unfortunately seems to have slightly taken the shape of something in the head and deformed the pipe at two spots ( like keyed on...

Does the filter head connect directly to the standpipe?

That makes a lot of sense, I had assumed it was just glued there but never thought that it could have been pushed up. It's clear in the parts breakdown that it's another part, thanks, I'll go check

Does the filter head connect directly to the standpipe?

So I've run into a bit of an issue. while deep cleaning my sand filter I got the bright idea of changing it's position slightly by rolling it as I didn't want a ton of water by my house running down the foundation. Doing so made the sand shift and actually raise the standpipe to where the valve...

Is my pump completely dead, half dead, or...?

The breaker switch toggles like a standard breaker would.

Is my pump completely dead, half dead, or...?

Well the wet ens seems in perfect shape, I've never noticed a drop around the pad. I'll definitely get on a good cleaning of it to see if there may some built up pollen, etc.. As for the breaker, I think it's of the gfci type, it has a yellow push to test button on it. If it's at the main panel...

Is my pump completely dead, half dead, or...?

I have a Sta-Rite SuperMax VS pump that has been great for about 8-9 years until about a month ago ( mid-late August ). After a very hot summer our pump started tripping the main panel breaker. It would trip a few hours into the daily cycle and as long as I reset the tripped breaker in the...

Should a robot clean the whole pool?

I would usually just throw the old unit I had in once a week and it would clean everything. I'm seeing that I now have to clean a bit more often so that what it leaves behind doesn't bother me as much and it'll get it next time. Not great but not worth stressing over either. Could my pool...

Should a robot clean the whole pool?

Hi, I just bought a Hayward Aquavac 600. I received it yesterday so thought Id put it in as I havent cleaned the pool since the new liner about 10 days ago. since the pool only had some debris and leaves at the bottom, I decided to just do a floor pass (90 min). came back a while later...

New water fill in vinyl liner pool

WOW! exactly the thread I needed now. Not to hijack but to compliment. Assuming the exact pool or a bit bigger (as sig.) and fill time was about 5-7 days on hot weather, but with SWG. What do you add as the pool is filling for it not to turn green on its way to full? SWG can't be started till...

Hayward GLX vs T cell difference - only warranty?

FWIW I try to keep my cell clean and my water balanced but don't always succeed, OK probably 80% of the time. I have a large pool and am going to buy a new t-15 as last season I found myself having to raise my feed dial a bit so don't want to get stuck without one. I'm starting my 9th season...

    New liner sanitizer concerns

Thank you for your swift replies. At first when he mentioned it I was like, yep, you're the pro, lets do it. But later that night and a few days later it hadn't left my mind and I guess I couldn't convince myself that it logically made sense. I mean, I open my pool with JAVEL. FLYING TIVO ...

    New liner sanitizer concerns

Hi all, soon after buying our home 8yrs ago I converted the pool to salt and could not be happier, much lower regular maintenance than the 2 months that I ran it on chlorine. Earlier this week I had a pool installer come over to consult as per replacing the aging liner and was asked why I was...

    Adapting coping to new liner

I approached another pool company today to inquire about my liner and was told by someone that knew my type of pool very well that they did not adapt any new liner to this older method and that a new track screwed to the inside wall was inevitable. He also mentioned that unless I was...

    Adapting coping to new liner

Thanks, good to know. I’ve never had to replace one so not very knowledgeable in that regard. I could happily get away with a September install if possible. When lined up as straight as possible the V gash was about 2-3 inches opened at the top and an 8-10” wide patch was applied to its...

    Adapting coping to new liner

Hi, I am going to be in the market for a new liner very soon most likely before the end of this summer. I have a company set out to come and visit me soon for an estimate but my Local pool service tells me I will probably need to install a new track as he is not sure that the liners made today...

So, I've been doing some math (electricity usage)...

yes but iff you are entering your own numbers it's no different than making up a spreadsheet with the exact data the OP calculated. I say 40k gal since the pool places around here don't calc larger but I have a similar size as yours, 1.5' return T'd off for 2, 1 ( very small) skimmer, 80ft...

So, I've been doing some math (electricity usage)...

I have a similarly sized pool but I didn't do the exhaustive testing that you probably did. To keep my water clean, comparing a 1.5HP super pump usage to the VS I have now I can confirm that I am saving a great deal more than $100/month. I replaced the pump at the pool opening last year so only...

    winterizing gone wrong, possibly?

Thanks all and sorry for the late reply. Yesterday my suspicions were confirmed. although a a coupole of tiny scratches in the liner that may or may not have been leaking were repaired, a pressure test on the drain line proved there was a break there that wasn't there at the same time last year...

    winterizing gone wrong, possibly?

Thanks, yes I had thought of that being my most economical fix. If by the time the snow's all gone I am lower than the shallow end floor, will I need a new liner or at the very least have it re-formed? I'm just not sure what happens when so much water escapes the pool. I can see vertical...

    winterizing gone wrong, possibly?

Hi there, After past posts indicating leaks in my returns and such, last year I decided to replace the lines and leave them above ground for testing as well as peace of mind before burying them this year. So far no problems, had a great swimming season and blew them dry in the fall. I decided to...

    constant return leaks

Thanks, I would guess that the original lines are buried quite deep as I've seen a return repair and the pipe takes a 90 degree downturn between 6-12 inches behind the wall. I do have all lines blown in the fall and may have to take special care from now forward as the only trenchers I've...
