I'll just liquid chlorine and leave pucks in as well, this would slowly increase my CYA and probably a little less maintenance as I can leave the pucks in for a week or 2.

You're right, I am only SLAMing just because I am "opening" my pool. It just doesn't have any chlorine, because it was too cold to swim so I just neglected to add chlorine.

I am sorry, I am not understanding your comment. So, what CC should I be seeing during a slam? I understand that I have algae, that is the reason why I am doing the slam.

But, is .5 CC normal during a slam? I am expecting it to be higher.

Just wondering, how many times can I shock the pool, as in can I shock the pool 3 nights in a row? but not slamming it. My pool was cloudy, I did a normal shock and it cleared up a lot but still lightly cloudy. Can I shock again the next night? and again the next night?

Hi, My Cyanuric Acid Reagent (R-0013) is clear straight out from the test kit. When I add it into my sample water, its still clear. Is it supposed to be noticeably cloudy? or can it be that I don't have enough CYA to react to the reagent?
