    Polaris PB4SQ leaking

A bit more info for you all. I had the same issue, pump was just under a year old. Leak started in same place (plate with symbols). Within a week (waiting for service tech) the leak became much worse around lower body of pump. In speaking with PB warranty person she said that 85% of the time...

Recommended Calcium Hardness (CH) with Heater

Newish pool owner here, recently went through my first SLAM (clorine dropped due to SWG issue and I didn't catch it). I had been a bit lax in testing and things got away from me. I'm now being more diligent about testing, possibly bordering on OCD behavior. (I live in North Texas and up until...

    Anyone Recognize This?

And the winner is....Jerz. Thanks for recognizing this. We did have a switch put in on the other side of the house and I just confirmed that this was a spare part from that. I'm guessing this has been in the pool since the electricians did their work back in September. The cleaner finally picked...

    Anyone Recognize This?

I should have said initially, Jim. I found it in the cleaners bag. It is pretty good size and the cleaner must have caught it just right for it to have been picked up. That made me think it could have been in the pool for quite some time and the cleaner just never picked it up before.

    Anyone Recognize This?

I was emptying the bag from my pool cleaner and ran across this plastic piece. The only lettering I could find on the part is "CMP-0568" which I couldn't find anything on via the interweb. The concentric circles appear to be different pipe diameters that could be punched out. If it makes a...

    Jandy Equipment Cost Questions

During the construction of our pool a couple of equipment changes were made and I'm looking for cost information in preparation for discussing with the pool builder what an appropriate refund would be for these changes. 1. Our original quote called for a Jandy CV580 and we ended up with a...

    P-Trap Questions

Like many other cities ours requires the installation of a p-trap on our sewer drain at the time the pool is built, even though we are using a cartridge filter. We won't have a drain line running from the pool equipment, just a spot that we can run a hose to when we need to pump water out of the...

New to TFP, New to Owning a Pool

Getting nearer to go time with our pool and I'm back on the board to re-read the ABC's of chemistry. While here, I'm uploading some pictures of our build so far. Excavation was on May 14th and was followed by three weeks of intermittent rain and some cave ins. Our PB has been good, though...

New to TFP, New to Owning a Pool

We are in the process of selecting a PB and are swimming (sorry) in details as we learn about all things pool related. I've read a number of the Pool School articles which are very helpful. I look forward to learning more.
