Thanks for the response. How can you tell if a grid is damaged. The o-ring and manifold are in good shape, so I’ll probably just buy a new set of grids - but are there tell-take signs the grids need replacing?

Hi all, I was getting some DE back into the pool, so I just completed my first deep filter clean since inheriting the pool. After close inspection during the clean, there are no cracks in the top manifold and the grids look to be in good shape although they were filthy - this may be normal...

Thanks guys - we just had a lot of rain, so now that is all gone today is Day #1 for me. Fixing the pH and TA today, and a vacuum - then I’ll start the SLAM tomorrow or when the ph and TA are in a better range. I appreciate all the help. Here we go!
