Going out of town and have some questions...

I’ll have to invest in some of those skimmer wizards @Lake Placid mentioned since I really have no way to shut the skimmers off unless I shut the pump down completely. Thank you for the info. Is it safe to have a chlorine tablet floater in there 24/7 if the pump is only running 7-8 hours a day...

Going out of town and have some questions...

I only have one 2 inch return from the pool and then one from the spa. The pool has 2 skimmers and 2 drains at the bottom of the deep end. So I think I should be safe in this aspect.

Going out of town and have some questions...

I'm going out of town for 10 days and don't really have anyone nearby who I can ask to maintain the pool. I've been doing my research on here on what the best approach might be but still have a couple questions. From what I've gathered, before I leave I should top the water off a little higher...

Tile Grout Breaking Off, How Much of a Problem?

OK thank you for the info and taking the time to reply. If I can ask you for some advice and your opinion, what do you suggest I do here? I can already tell you contacting the builder again would be a waste of time. If you were in my shoes what would you do?

Tile Grout Breaking Off, How Much of a Problem?

No I did not specify what kind of grout should be used. It was just in the contract and included invoice that the price included labor and material. Is it standard or acceptable practice to use regular tile grout in a pool application? I can accept ignorance is not an excuse if this was...

Tile Grout Breaking Off, How Much of a Problem?

Ok so what I’m understanding is this is basically a worst case scenario situation here and will require a major repair job. Is the fact the wrong grout was used something I’d be able to prove? I’m 99.9% certain the contractor would not own up to this or be willing to fix it on their own and the...

    Pool Reno Headache.

Sorry to see you have this experience. Mine was very similar in many of the ways you've described. I'm not an expert so I can't answer any of your questions specifically. However living with some of the same issues you've got going on with your pool I can tell you the imperfections don't bother...

Tile Grout Breaking Off, How Much of a Problem?

Looking for opinions/ advice on what I have going on here and best route to take to fix it. Pool was remodeled (tile and surface) less than two years ago. Now I've got areas that have some efflorescence on the grout lines but based on what I researched on here I was never concerned with it. I...

EasyTouch and Intelliflo VS Pump Communication Lost

Just wanted to post an update in case anyone is searching this issue in the future like I was. After following Jim's advice and cleaning the prongs on the pump with the diluted acid mixture it solved my issue and everything has been running perfectly since.

EasyTouch and Intelliflo VS Pump Communication Lost

Agree that it did not seem to be designed that way, when I opened it up it did not seem easy. It was underneath a circuit board that was not easily removed after taking out the screws that appeared to hold it in place. I gave up before potentially breaking something inside the pump. But that's...

EasyTouch and Intelliflo VS Pump Communication Lost

Yeah, the flash definitely shows more than you can see with your eye. I've used contact cleaner and a brush on them so far but I'll try your suggestion on the MA. Should I just dilute some 14.5% with a little water? If all else fails do you know if it is possible to replace this port? Thanks...

EasyTouch and Intelliflo VS Pump Communication Lost

Hi Jim, Thanks for the quick reply. When I returned home from work today I went out to check and the pump again had lost communication with the ET. Yes, the pump has power when I put the ET in Service Mode. It shows the time, RPMs and watts like it normally would when not communicating with the...

EasyTouch and Intelliflo VS Pump Communication Lost

Hey Everyone, I'm having issues with my EasyTouch losing communication with my Pentair Intelliflo VS Pump. I've done everything I can to troubleshoot it myself and am out of ideas so hoping someone here can help. Currently the ET is not communicating with the pump the majority of the time. I...

    Low TA but stable pH?

FC: 5 pH: 7.8 TA: 50 CH: 390 CYA: 40 So my TA is on the lower side and has seemingly slowly decreasing over time. However my pH is more stable than it's been since having the pool replastered about a year ago. I've added just under a gallon of acid since the 1st of the month. I've been dropping...
