Many thanks for that picture! You have given me another option to consider for sure.

    Aiper Scuba S1 Review

Any pictures of that 5th wheel? The marketing images on Aiper's website don't show it. I'd assume it would also help with this issue, but kind of want the visual to make sure I'm thinking of it correctly. Hadn't really considered the Seagull... shorter run time than the Scuba and an older(I...

    Aiper Scuba S1 Review

S1 vs S1 Pro... anyone had "getting stuck on transition" issues with the S1 that were solved with the S1 Pro? My Active 30 died and, wanting to jump on the no-cord bandwagon, I picked up an N1. So far I'm pretty happy with the decision. Unfortunately, the little guy keeps getting stuck on...

Scuba S1 getting stuck on deep end transition

My thinking on the S1 Pro is that it has front and rear rollers which would help it not get stuck sideways on the transition. I'm assuming that's one reason my old (and now dead) Active 30 never got stuck in the same spot.

I wouldn't think copper... stains were yellow/brown and came right up with the AA treatment. Very minimal copper piping in the house (mostly all pex) and I've never used anything other than chemicals recommended here on TFP. But, I suppose it is a possibility. I'll keep that in mind if...

    Iron Removal Experiment

I'm trying to find a decently cheap way to remove soluble iron from my pool and from my well water that I use to top off with. After some great advice from @JoyfulNoise in this thread I decided to try a variation of the poly-fill bucket contraption. I'm going on a theory. A very simple "I may...

Scuba S1 getting stuck on deep end transition

Oh, or maybe switch to the Wybot C1... seems to be roughly the same price as what I paid for the S1.

Scuba S1 getting stuck on deep end transition

My pool has a rather severe angle of change from shallow down to deep. When I eventually have to replace the liner, I'm going to see about having that rounded out a bit... always bugged me a little. But in the mean time, my little vacuum buddy finds himself somehow running parallel to the drop...

Could be the picture throwing it off a bit. Started as white, but now It's more blue tinged than anything. Seems to me the same color as the cal-hypo tabs. I'm assuming it's from chunks of the tab breaking up and getting washed down the line to get caught in the filter where they were still in...

The results are in, and they are disappointing. That was after two solid days of running this contraption with doubled cal-hypo tabs. It seems my soluble iron is being very, very stubborn. But, results are results. I'm left wondering if raising the pool to shock level and then trying this...

Understood. I don't believe my iron level is all that high. It took a couple years for the staining to become noticeable, and from there it just darkened slowly over time. When I closed this past winter, I raised the chlorine pretty high. Not sure how high, but after I opened this spring and...

Phenol red. I may have a digital probe, need to find it. But, to your point... need to go big or go home. So, shut it down and checked. Poly-fill is clear, no trapped iron. Oh well, not the result I was hoping for, but still a result. Science! Threw a second tab in the chamber. I didn't slow...

Curious about the actual chlorine concentration, I ran a drop test on the output. It's 6.5 PPM. May not sound like much, but I just finished an AA stain treatment the other day so my input water has 0 PPM. I'm sitting at about 60 for CYA since I haven't brought that up yet to my normal 75...

Good call. I could just keep that reaction chamber in the pool itself, but I'm curious to see how well this cheap screw lid thing holds up to being a pressure vessel, so it's now taking up residence in a plastic tub.

Metal Trap vs RV Water Softener for top-ups

So very nice of them to meet your demands. Yup, 75. It's like you know what you are talking about or something. Ask for another zero. 👍 Can I get an Amen! Thanks again for taking the time. Hope you have a great day!

Metal Trap vs RV Water Softener for top-ups

I feel like you should run a class on this. I considered the bucket before, but since most of my iron is in suspension, I overlooked it. Didn't think of adding a cal-hypo tab to force the precipitation. This is why they pay you the big bucks. I wonder what the chlorination effect of this...

Metal Trap vs RV Water Softener for top-ups

Yeah, this is pretty much the opposite of what the article implies. I'm guessing that, in layman's terms, there is a chance that some of the sequestered iron can get caught up in the DE filter but not enough to really matter. Is that about right? Question related to this. Will the Metal Trap...

Metal Trap vs RV Water Softener for top-ups

OK, yup.... I was missing something. I've been reading non-stop about iron on this forum for a day or two and I guess it all got jumbled. Thanks for setting me straight. I'll go for the Metal Trap and a flow meter/totalizer. Normally, no. But the "Sequestrant - Further Reading" page has...

Metal Trap vs RV Water Softener for top-ups

Its a 19k gallon vinyl liner salt water pool and I'm on well water. I'm about to go through an AA treatment (polyquat, Jack's purple stuff, and AA already ordered) due to some wonderful brown staining. My understanding is that my DE filter should trap the sequestered iron so I can remove it...

    OmniHub acting up suddenly

And, strangely enough, after putting the hub into service mode yesterday and discovering it didn't think it needed to update firmware to 5.0.1, the pump now ramps up to the minimum speed required when I turn on the heater. I'm assuming that exiting service mode simply forced it to reprocess the...

HAYWARD OMNILOGIC APP KEEPS LOGGING ME OUT

Happened to me. Android. Uninstalled, re-installed, works again. For some reason, it still shows the login screen but quickly moves past it to site selection and then quickly moves past that into what you would expect to see.

    OmniHub acting up suddenly

We've had some power fluctuations recently during storms. During one of these incidents, my pump stopped. The Omni didn't realize that though and just reported that I was happily pumping along at 50% speed. Telling Omni to stop the pump and then turn it back on did nothing. Omni thought the...

Dolphin working but not communicating with power supply.

I tried dealing direct with Maytronics at first, but they wanted me to ship the robot to them. That was a no-go for me, so I worked with the dealer I had purchased it from. That worked well because they let me take the robot home to keep using him while we were waiting on parts, which took a while.
