Hey guys, when I run the pump the PVC backwash pipe always drains, whether I'm running the filter or just circulating the water. This makes it very hard for me to run the pump over night as I'm afraid that the pool will run too low for the pump. Any ideas why this is?

Well, I didn't get anything better with half tap water. Still used 50 drops and there was no change in color. I put half a quart of ph minus in the pool tonight and I'm going to leave the pool on circulate to see if that will help the ph which as I'm reading will help the bleach work better.

We live in Arizona and have EXTREMELY hard water. And Adding filtered water to the pool is not an option. As far as I can tell, the pool is also concrete which adds the the calcium levels. I will try the test with 50% tap water as recomended but as I said, all of our water is extremely hard...

What time of day do you all run your pump? I have read the pool school section about how long I should run the pump but I was wondering if anyone had a preference about the time of day? Logic would tell me that during the sunniest part of the day would be the optimal time of day to run the...

Thanks restockton, Optica, and htownjeeper, I'll change that tonight (pump to filter from recirculate). So, my pool will have been running in re-circulation for 24hrs! Probably won't look any better today when I get there then, just cloudy? I will continue to run it over night in "filter" mode...

1. Brushed the steps after the photo and most of the marks are stains. 2. Brushed the deep end after the photos too. It appears that the darkest spots are stains and the lighter stuff in the middle seemed to puff up after my brushing. As for the cleaner, it does operate when the pump is on...
