Leak in Pentair Microbrite LED fitting

I'm in Orange County. Super nice of you to offer. At the moment, I'm in touch with Pentair and they sent me a form to fill out, which will put my products under warranty. Assuming I can get some info from my pool builder, Pentair said they can submit a work order and have someone come out and do...

Leak in Pentair Microbrite LED fitting

I've been going through CYA and salt like crazy. And the chlorinator is cranked up. So looks like I just need to buy an o-ring, the removal tool and silicone lube...

Leak in Pentair Microbrite LED fitting

Yep, I saw this. So looks like it's ok not to have a flooded conduit? Assuming I follow these instructions? Ok to do this underwater?

Leak in Pentair Microbrite LED fitting

My pool is leaking! I isolated the leak to one of the Microbrite LEDs, as it connects to the fitting. Here's a video: https://photos.app.goo.gl/7CGBYDLJuhfa6JiR6 My pool builder is ducking me so I'm just going to fix this myself. I assume I need to buy the installation tool (I don't think I...

FOUND THE LEAK!!!!! (spoiler, it was one of the nicheless LED lights)

I don't look forward to digging up the conduit. What is the best solution?

FOUND THE LEAK!!!!! (spoiler, it was one of the nicheless LED lights)

I have. he said he can come by next Wednesday. But I want to know what the fix is or how you guys would handle it. Not that I don't trust him...

FOUND THE LEAK!!!!! (spoiler, it was one of the nicheless LED lights)

A year after finishing the pool build, I finally located the leak. Hoping the repair is easy. Long story short, we finished building the pool last summer and were very happy to start using it. I quickly realized I was losing salt very quickly. Something like 100 PPM a week. CYA was also...

Pool Mode and Spa Mode and... in between mode?

So we don't really use the spa like an actual spa. We have little kids and they complain the pool is too cold, so I heat the spa up to like 85 degrees. I don't really mind getting the pool warmer either? It's actually nice, since we have some heated water going to the spa and then some going to...

Pool Mode and Spa Mode and... in between mode?

Yes, I have an IC40 plumbed immediately before the Intellivalve at the return side. I do have it set to generate chlorine when in spa mode, but at a much lower level.

Pool Mode and Spa Mode and... in between mode?

We've been using the pool a few weeks now and I'm dealing with things I would like guidance on. Details are as follows: The pool is plumbed in such a way that even in pool mode, some water is returned to the spa and over time, there is a slight overflow sending water from the spa into the pool...

Lost 900ppm salt and 25ppm CYA in a little over a month of heavy swimming

Also, one other question. Is it possible that it's not algae and it's just a bunch of organic contaminants? I've been getting lots of leaves and bugs in the pool lately... could that be eating up the chlorine?

Lost 900ppm salt and 25ppm CYA in a little over a month of heavy swimming

I'll do the OCLT test and report back. Yes, salt and CYA dropped dramatically in the last month. CYA was 70 on July 5, 45 on Aug 7th. I know it's a lot but we've been using the pool a lot... 4 kids in it daily, then with friends over its like 8 kids splashing around and using the pool to fill...

Lost 900ppm salt and 25ppm CYA in a little over a month of heavy swimming

To clarify, I used a salt test to confirm I went from about 3900 ppm to 2800 ppm. My SWG was saying the same thing over the last few weeks, but I confirmed with the actual test. My FC was going up initially, going from 4-5 to 10 in less than a week. This is when I turned it down. I turned it...

Lost 900ppm salt and 25ppm CYA in a little over a month of heavy swimming

I'm nearly certain I don't have a leak and I didn't backwash during this time... so I am chalking it up to splash out and heavy use, but wanted to see what you guys thought. July 4th my CYA was at 70 and salt was 3800. It's a brand new pool and that was my baseline to have it ready for swimming...

Chlorine generation (SWG) and flow: increased flow for a day and my FC shot up

I lowered the SWG to 30% two days ago to see if my FC would come down. I checked yesterday and FC was 10.5! Compared to 9.5 two days ago. So it's still going up even though it's very warm with full sun lately here in Socal. So I dropped the SWG down to 20% and reduced pump time by an hour.

Chlorine generation (SWG) and flow: increased flow for a day and my FC shot up

Nope, no real reason other than it felt right to me... Haha. I am sure I could turn it down and increase the duration. Is there a reason why you run yours 24/7 at a lower RPM? I would guess if I did that I would need to turn the production on my SWG way down. Seems like at 50% 12 hours a day I...

Chlorine generation (SWG) and flow: increased flow for a day and my FC shot up

Nope, bright sun. Normal schedule just higher flow. Anyways I just checked it and it's at 9.5 so I'm going to turn the SWG down to 30% and see if that brings my FC down.

Chlorine generation (SWG) and flow: increased flow for a day and my FC shot up

I run my VSP 12 hours a day, at 1800rpm, from 8am to 8pm. I just fired it up on July 5th, the day after all my salt, so I've been tracking my levels pretty carefully since then. It's been holding pretty steady for several days and went up yesterday, and I'm trying to figure out why. Here is my...

    Intellicenter + Intelliflo3. Everything works, but I don't believe it's wired correctly

Ha! Thanks for this. I am guessing I missed a calculator or an app or something somewhere? And with that, is there a way to calculate my FC loss each day? To know how much I should need to generate each day?

    Intellicenter + Intelliflo3. Everything works, but I don't believe it's wired correctly

Another update: last night after adding salt the "LOW SALT" indicator on the SWG was on (no surprise, since I only added salt a few hours before) and my Intellicenter told me I was at 2200 PPM. This morning I went to go take a look and the reading was 3900 PPM. I didn't get a chance to do a...

    Intellicenter + Intelliflo3. Everything works, but I don't believe it's wired correctly

All checks out... SWG turns on in pool mode, turns off in service mode. Current adding salt to my pool, with the Intellichlor set to 0%. Will start it at 50% tomorrow once all the salt dissolves! Also checked the GFCI, which turned off all my pool lights when I tested it.

    Intellicenter + Intelliflo3. Everything works, but I don't believe it's wired correctly

This is correct, to the best of my knowledge. Quick diagram attached. DTC means down to conduit. The red wires coming out of terminals #2 and #4, that are wired to the breaker the electrician marked with blue tape, I guess to indicate hot, and I would guess they go down to my Intelliflo. The...

    Intellicenter + Intelliflo3. Everything works, but I don't believe it's wired correctly

Here is that particular relay. The SWG is wired to terminals #1 and #3, these would normally be LINE but in this case, these are load since the breaker is wired to terminals #2 and #4. The SWG does not receive constant hot.

    Intellicenter + Intelliflo3. Everything works, but I don't believe it's wired correctly

Yes, I believe so. I will try it out later. But as far as I can tell they are all wired to one of the GFCI outlets below the panel.
