    Thanks everyone for the help, I ended just picking up a nice Hayward pump for ALOT more then the Harris and hooked up and running beautiful. Only runny at 6 amps on each leg for 220 and not getting hot. Definitely getting my money back on other pump. Thanks again!

    Got same brand pump harris but just 1hp instead of 1.5 because pool guy said didn't need that big for this size pool. I'll try the half close the outlet valve see if it makes it not work as much.

    Pressure guage stays around 10 psi. Yes pump was a whole unit bought together new. Yes 12/2 romex was the temporary so I could rule out wiring issue. Tried both, on 110 then turned switch to 220 and changed to 220 breaker to check both and drew high amps on both. Ran all good last 2 summers but...

    Seems to not stay right full in pump either after its been shut down it's down about half. Supposed to stay full isn't it?

    Brand new pump drawing high amp overheating

    Hey everyone. I just installed new harris 1 hp pump and after running for 10 mins. Shut off from overheating. I'm electrician/plumber so checked amp draw and was 11 amps on each leg when hooked up for 230. Supposed to be around 5 amps. And on 110 it's around 20 amps so just about tripped...
