Does this prove my light fixture is bonded?

Yes, that's about the size of the wire. I keep salt around 2200... I'm not so much concerned about the salt causing rust, but the current corrosion issue since the salt generator adds current to the water- at least that's what I was told to worry about when I mentioned going SWG to the guy...

Does this prove my light fixture is bonded?

Hello all! I've been contemplating the move to SWG or a pump set up to help automate my current liquid chlorine process... But since my pool is old (although freshly replastered) I want to make sure my light nook is properly bonded to help prevent it from...

jblizzle I believe you are right. :-p chem geek there is a wire connected to the pump, maybe I'll see if I can run a wire from that to the pool and do a continuity test to see if it's connected to other things, that's my best bet I guess.... Although I don't recall any strange single wire...

Now that I'm home, and just for fun... Here is the pool and the page in the back of the book that I found. Andrew

If I were to entertain that notion and assume there is a bond wire, I just bury that and don't even connect it to the pool or anything?

We own a pump and 3" hoses (a couple hundred feet worth) for when the back parting lot floods... He has it at home right now from draining his pool though (he shut it down, was tired of paying the bills) so he'll bring it in tomorrow. I will mention a SWG set up to him... Never know unless I...

The owner? No, he trusts what I said. Plus, he wouldn't want to have to pay for me to use my test kit (first one was free, more would cost. bwahahahhahahahaa) :hammer: I have my refill test stuff on the way... off topic, kinda. :)

Looking at my pool logs this morning, it looks like we are using way more chlorine pucks than I thought.... So I don't know... good news is, I checked and sure enough, in the very back of the book of my pool course book are some "information" pages, including a page on CYA and that limits are...

Well, I've mentioned that to the manager and she said we were going to put it out as a "have to" and see how that goes. The water bill is already pretty high, and I have to drop the watering on the plants to keep it low, which makes it hard already being in the desert. But we will add in the...

Hmmm Interesting! I've taken the BS class a few times and don't recall ever seeing anything about that. I'll yank the book back out at work today and try to look for more info on your post above to see where the heck I've missed it. Andrew

Sounds close, our puck demand may be a bit higher than that. So maybe sodium bicarbinate would be a better PH upper than soda ash since it would affect the TA more? I can only think of a handful of times that I've had to add acid to this pool- no I've never done it to intentionally lower the...

Yes, I deal at a local shop, but deal specifically with the commercial sales guy. I had checked if my chlorine consumption (by purchase schedule) was more that other similarly sized pools... (unrelated question then, but beneficial information now :) ) I buy the exact same brand and size...

Leslie's pool supplies commercial office. I was told I could go there and buy for myself, but I do run a pool at an apartment complex... so not sure if they would accept just anyone... But I told them I can get 2x1 gal 10% from lowes for $6.86 so they told me I could have 2x1gal 12.75% for...

No way I could go liquid chlorine without some automated system that the owner would never pay for. For some reason, I thought they took the PH the other way. Sorry I didn't double check that. Yeah, I knew that's why the cya was high... the fact that I found it impossible to keep cya low...

Hello everyone! This question is for my work pool that I take care of at an apartment complex, not the pool in my signature... 13,000 gallons bluish plaster semi-public (about 20-40 swimmers a week I would guess... really not super busy) Sanitizer 3" tabs trichlor Current numbers: FC 4 CC 0...

What are all these strange named places you guys are naming for that stuff? Pool places or local super center types of things? My pool place was way pricey on some 10% stuff... like 12 bucks for 2 gallons.

Employee discount is 10% so my price is 6.18 for the two. Yeah, forgot the left parenthesis on the last part, and I don't think .10 is different than 0.1 mathematically, although likely not correct to "math" people (which I am not haha!).

Best price I've found is from Lowes and includes employee discount... (http://www.lowes.com/pd_77608-1327-331_ ... facetInfo=) (6.18/2) / 128*.10) =$0.24 (I think I figured out how to do the math from the previous posts... :-p) Cool topic, first time seeing it... :)

No the crack you see is about all of it. BTW the crack that was filled in the pool is the far right corner in the deep. Not even any cracks on top over there. Who knows what they did the pool was originally installed in the early 70s by a builder that had basically just started.... Thanks tk

No we didn't. We just decided to block off the main drain, install a dedicated vacuum line for the sand shark and let the skimmer be a skimmer.

No worries Dave, just poking at you. *grin* hope you get better! Linen, nice save attempt! ;) I probably would believe it, except it would be tricky getting the shark to sit there like that. heh The water is 72f, I jumped in the other night... Wasn't horribly, but it was still really...
