    Sand filter (head) connections.

Hi there Yes, the nut and tail fit to the existing fitting on the sand filter. I was wondering how the other part would fit? It’s not needed but more a question of how would that work? Cheers

    Sand filter (head) connections.

The last image is of the barrel union set so the fitting to the right is the part that the nut and tail attach to. My question is how does that then attach to the sand filter if there’s a threaded part as in the first image? Cheers

    Sand filter (head) connections.

Hi there I have a Questa Jetstream Hi Fliw Sand filter with a Davey style MPV. Tthis question is for my educational purposes but I’m sure someone here will be able to answer it. The connections in my filter from the pump into the filter and from the filter through the salt chlorinator to return...

Impeller for Monarch/Questa Supa Jetflow pump

Hi there Yes I agree the writing is on the wall but I’m no engineer but my impeller is not made of plastic it’s like a fibreglass kind of composition. Silver sparkly flecks come off it when you handle it. I have one more avenue to follow up then I’m done! Cheers.

Impeller for Monarch/Questa Supa Jetflow pump

Hi Yes I knew about the union. I think I’ve overtightened it but it’s not leaking and not sucking air. I’ll replace it down the track. Thanks. I sent Direct Pool Supplies in NSW images and dimensions of the impeller. I’m not sure how much trouble they went to but they came back with a no. I did...

Impeller for Monarch/Questa Supa Jetflow pump

Hi there I know this is a long shot but there are many folks here in Australia that use these forums so i thought posting a request here may be fruitful. I have the above pump driven by a 1hp CMG motor. The pump hasn't been available for a few years but has worked perfectly for years. A couple...

Need advice on how much water to remove for salt ppm

Also to answer the comment about purchasing an SWG that is more in keeping with the current salt level I’ve been working with since inheriting the pool some 14 years ago. The issue I have is the SWG is no longer manufactured and getting either a replacement cell or getting it refurbished is a...

Need advice on how much water to remove for salt ppm

I understand that. What I was asking was how did you arrive at the figure of 30% of the pool volume removed? Mathematically I guess. I figured out how you arrived at 0.7 but I’m not understanding the calculation of 30%. I don’t doubt it I just want to understand the working Cheers.

Need advice on how much water to remove for salt ppm

Our town water comes from a holding basin and is treated prior to the domestic supply. You may be right about the salinity but I’ve always assumed it’s next to zero. Right or wrong. Can you explain the 0.7 (how did you come up with that figure) x 4780 and how that equates to nearly a third of...

Need advice on how much water to remove for salt ppm

Thanks. The fresh water replacing the pool water has zero salinity so by removing 30% and refilling what will the the new salt level be? Cheers

Need advice on how much water to remove for salt ppm

Hi there I’m considering purchasing a new SWG. My old one happily operated at 5000ppm but it’s nearly 15 years old. The replacement SWG manual specifies a salt level of between 3000-3500ppm and no higher than 4000ppm. Using an Aqua Chek salt test strip it returned a 7.2 result (4780ppm). So if...

Advice on which way to proceed with chlorination.

Hi there Salt level is fine sitting at 5000ppm and plates are calcium free.. I had the pool water tested just prior to Christmas and the result confirmed my suspicion the cell was just about done. Cheers.

Advice on which way to proceed with chlorination.

Hi there I really need some advice on this situation. I’m in Victoria, Australia and inherited my pool when I purchased this home. The chlorinator is a Questachlor Xtra (reverse polarity) producing 30 grams an hour at optimal operation. The chlorinator would be approx 15 years old. I’ve replaced...
