there is tension in those wires as if it is a support to hold the walls of the pools to prevent collapse. you think it would be safe to modify those to make just one cable go across so we can put a volleyball net up?

anyone know if those 4 supports with the tension cables are needed? i see so many pools without those...

People get caught up with associating "salt" with table salt. Salt is the product of any acid/base reaction (NaCl, KCl, CuSO4, etc...)

got it from my pool store. it was brand new in box. i was able to connect everything internally, though, but I was like WTF is this?! haha. it even had extra wires in there that weren't needed. looks like someone had a bad day on the assembly line.

ended up using a plastic dinner plate to block the return jet and it held itself in place. when I tried to hook the controller up last night to at least run the pump timer, I got no power to the unit. the GFCI was fine, and so was the circuit breaker. i took apart the control panel to find that...

Just plugged in my new aqua troll to find nothing powers up. Circuit and gfci are all fine. I open the unit up and NONE of the internal cables with their quick connects are connected. They are all loose and not connected to the board. Anyone else ever come across this?

Can I swim during the 24 hour salt addition waiting period? I already have an FC of 2 from chlorine tabs.

The pool store i bought from told me to put in half a bag of nu-clor (believe that's how it's spelled) stabilizer and a small tub of nu-clor (spelling?) total alkalinity and then 125lbs of salt. Does this sound ok?

What would you suggest for blocking that eyeball type return jet?

Aqua Trol looks like a great unit. My next question is one of logistics. When disconnecting the hose from the filter to return jet, will I be flooding myself in the process? Is it ok to have the pump off and to disconnect the hose in order to install this thing?
