    Swg recommendation

Oh, your signature said 60k gallons. I would go with the 40k. It's not that much more expensive and will likely last you alot longer. They're easy to change once installed btw. Just two unions. Good luck.

    Swg recommendation

If you have a spa and/or any other water features, the Hayward automation is very cool and easy to use... but much more involved (and expensive) of an install. Also, looks like you have a giant pool. The biggest salt cell you can get with Hayward is rated for 40k gallons. I wouldn't go with...

Shopping for a SWG and maybe Automation (Edit: Ultimately went with Hayward HLBPLUS4W)

He said that if he goes out to a warranty job and there is no check valve that it's an instant denial from Hayward. So I spent the extra $40.

Btw, the guy that did the install is a certified Hayward, Pentair and I think Jandy warranty representative. Very cool guy and he's actually a TFP'er. I was shocked when I started talking about the forum and he said he's an expert and posts from time to time. Anyone looking for an install on...

Hahaha, I was just doing that and trying to update the thread title (guess I can't do that) to add that I went with HLBPLUS4W. Thanks again @ajw22

Shopping for a SWG and maybe Automation (Edit: Ultimately went with Hayward HLBPLUS4W)

Just wanted to update this thread. System is fully installed, up and running. Total cost was 5g's when all is said and done Like I said earlier, it's waaay more involved that I thought. A bunch of electrical, I guess depending on your house/situation. Anyways, the app is simple and awesome...

Shopping for a SWG and maybe Automation (Edit: Ultimately went with Hayward HLBPLUS4W)

I tested my pool water and I already have about 3300 ppm salt from all the chlorine I've used over the past 4 years (never added salt). So I take it I don't need to add any salt before the salt system is installed. Can someone please verify? Also, my CYA is currently at 20, should I bump it...

Shopping for a SWG and maybe Automation (Edit: Ultimately went with Hayward HLBPLUS4W)

The guy that came out to quote the install was a very cool guy. It's way more involved than I thought. He said that a check valve is required if I want the system to be warrantied. He is a certified Hayward Tech and said that if there is no check valve it's an instant denial if I have an...

Thanks @ajw22 . I couldn't find that. Maybe I could do one of these (crude drawing attached)?

So, I'm getting a quote for install of the HLBPLUS4W and wanted to know if this is enough space to install the Salt Cell if anybody knows. I'd just assume not have them charge me for a bunch of plumbing if it's unnecessary. The pipe with the arrows is where I think it needs to be installed and...

Skimmer not working as well as I would like

Sorry you're having this problem, I know how frustrating it can be. I actually refinished my pool about 4 years back and had a separate suction line put in the pool for my Kreepy Krauly. Things worked great for the first 6 months-ish... and then they didn't. I tried everything, every tweak...

Exposed Metal/Rebar(maybe) Above Skimmer Causing Rust and Plaster Stains

Thanks @reggiehammond . Honestly, considering the time and cost... and how disgusting it was before, I couldn't be happier with the result. Ready for summer now, woohoo!

Yup, and you can't buy it online anywhere... heck, I can't even find a price for it. Maybe I'll just bite the bullet and go with your original idea of the HLBPLUS4W. Either way I'll keep you posted.

Darn, I think I jumped the gun... it looks like I'll need to add this to make the actuators work: https://hayward.com/aquarite-s3-omni-upgrade-kit-aqrs3omnikit.html

Shopping for a SWG and maybe Automation (Edit: Ultimately went with Hayward HLBPLUS4W)

So, I ordered this: AquaRite S3 Omni Salt System 40,000 gallon FEATURES Features: • LCD color display for built-in control of chlorine levels, heater and variable-speed pump (single-speed pump control via Smart Relay, HLH485RELAY, sold separately) • Works only with a genuine S3 Series Hayward...

Shopping for a SWG and maybe Automation (Edit: Ultimately went with Hayward HLBPLUS4W)

Also, my pool/spa lights and my spa jets are located about 30ft from my equipment pad. Not sure I'd even be able to connect those to the OmniPL automation. Probably just the function of switching between pool and spa mode. And being able to do that remotely, like before getting home, would be...

Shopping for a SWG and maybe Automation (Edit: Ultimately went with Hayward HLBPLUS4W)

I figured. Free install and their warranty is the only reason I would shop there. The screwdriver part is fine... it's the electrical that I'm not comfortable with. If I pay a premium and get those from Leslies they'll install for free. Hmmm, $2626... or about $4700... I don't know if the...

Shopping for a SWG and maybe Automation (Edit: Ultimately went with Hayward HLBPLUS4W)

@ajw22 I just called Leslies back, I noticed that part number on the link I posted above is missing a letter, the B, so I gave them the correct number of HLBPLUS4W and they can order... $4051 installed. That's probably my best bet until I buy the actuators, huh? The guy said if my heater has...

Shopping for a SWG and maybe Automation (Edit: Ultimately went with Hayward HLBPLUS4W)

Okay, I see your edited post above now. That's too bad, Leslies does not carry the OmniPL. I didn't want to drop all that coin right now... not even sure where to get the OmniPL but I definitely want to add a SWG. I'll have to kick this around.

Shopping for a SWG and maybe Automation (Edit: Ultimately went with Hayward HLBPLUS4W)

Thanks @ajw22 , I didn't even know that existed. I just called Leslies and they said $2626 out the door (installed). Does that make automation less expensive for me if I decide to take the plunge down the road?
  25. Palpatine

Shopping for a SWG and maybe Automation (Edit: Ultimately went with Hayward HLBPLUS4W)

Leslies is doing a free install deal right now on the W3AQR15. Out the door price is $2200, unless I need a check valve (which I already have one installed but don't know where they want to put this one) then it would be $2310. Seems like a fair deal,no? Since I have a Hayward pump would I...

Shopping for a SWG and maybe Automation (Edit: Ultimately went with Hayward HLBPLUS4W)

Thanks @ajw22 If I only start with the SWG, would you mind providing me with that exact part number? And yes, not sure about that vendor, I just saw that it was likely what I needed and it was easy to link to.

Shopping for a SWG and maybe Automation (Edit: Ultimately went with Hayward HLBPLUS4W)

Thanks for the reply. I wasn't sure if the 40K would be enough for my pool, but it's about 1.5 x. Is the link that I provided the exact system I should purchase? Do you have any idea what the actuators cost? Is there anything else I would need to purchase to make this all work? Thanks...
