Anyone ever tried aliexpress for pumps, filters, etc?

I should have looked closer, 450mm is only about and 18" filter, I was assuming it was a much larger closer to 30" sand filter for inground pools.

Anyone ever tried aliexpress for pumps, filters, etc?

Looks like an old Baker Hydro filter, actual fiberglass. Only issue I could see is getting parts.

Raypak heater mystery for the experts, this is beyond bizarre

So mystery solved, my friend mothballed the heater and forgot he'd left a bag of them under the burner. It was a mess but took it apart, cleaned it all up and the heater is working.

Raypak heater mystery for the experts, this is beyond bizarre

We're totally baffled, this heater was spotless inside a week ago, took of the hood, vacuumed the leaves out, vacuumed around the burner tray, heater worked fine (only 2 years old to boot). Today I see a message, no pilot sensed so I open up the front and inside looks like a bunch of cobwebs...

    Saftron Ladder anchor cups

Yeah, time will much like so many pool items that are the latest and greatest. I remember when companies went to flex pipe over poly, just for the record we still use poly (greenflex) whenever possible. As for installing a rail in pavers having done several I found the easiest way is to remove...

    Saftron Ladder anchor cups

We've installed several and I can say that they are more susceptible to damage and we even had a few of the cross brace rails snap where the leg piece goes on. In Saftron's favor, they did replace it for us no questions asked, didn't have to send back the old rail or anything like that but I do...

Is this normal corrosion for a 4 year old Raypak heater?

No tablets, salt water pool. Wondering if there was a leak at some point before us that did the damage. I looked closely for leaks in the heat ex changer, manifolds, etc and everything was dry but the internals rusted really badly as you saw in the photos.

Is this normal corrosion for a 4 year old Raypak heater?

Thanks for the quick reply. I guess it's from condensation and lower grade metals, we're in central NJ. What bugs me is I've worked on ancient Hayward comfortzones, Anthony heaters, Laars etc with the same natural draft design and they were 20 years old, still looked brand new new inside. I...

    Saftron Ladder anchor cups

As the other contributor said, yes you can bond them but the difficult part is when you core out the old anchors it can be difficult to not damage the bonding wire (often the wire is in the concrete or there's no excess to connect to). Also the Saftron anchors require not one but two...

Is this normal corrosion for a 4 year old Raypak heater?

Heater not lighting, pulled out the burner tray to see what's up and everything is crumbling from the rust. No active leaks that I can see. Wondering if others have had this happen. Photos attached.

    Intellichlor IC40 failed

We service 100's of pools with these cells and they last WAY longer than 1-3 years. Most last at least 7 in our experience. We always upsize to double so IC40's on 20k pools and IC60's on anything bigger... we also do a light acid washing on them once very season (here in NJ pools are only...

    Hayward tank splits

Thanks for the feedback. It's hard to believe but I would say 95% of the filters we see here in our service area are all Hayward with top mount multi-ports. The old GM series from 20 years ago used to last a good long time. But lately we're seeing filters fail within 3 years and lots of them...

    Hayward tank splits

seam failure Lately we've been seeing a lot of Hayward sand filters failing at the same. I'm curious if board members have had better luck with other brands of sand filters or if this is across the board.

    Black Flakes in Hot Tub

Mine did the same thing, I wound up putting the filter on the outlet side rather than the intake to capture the flecks. Eventually the heater started leaking after 4 years (and several repairs) so I finally got rid of it and bought a bestway tub to replace it. Shame parts aren't made available...

I somehow got water into the inflatable cover for my inflatable Intex hot tub.

This happened to mine all the time, I used to put a straw in the hole and suck out the water. I think it may be condensation inside but maybe it's the valved leaking water in? A little water was ok, made it a bit heavier but after awhile it was problematic.

What is this on my filter?

    thanks, will try that!

What is this on my filter?

Just thought someone might be able to identify this, I'm thinking maybe calcium? I never saw this before on my hot tub filters but I also never used a stain and scale preventer until recently. My hot tub is on a back deck, gets light use, I only use liquid chlorine and sometimes a bit of...

    Leaking threaded joints

I tried an experiment, JUST pipe dope (Rectorseal T Plus 2 as recommended BY Hayward's reps). I tried this into a multiport and also into the top of a super pump, brand new Lasco SCH 40 fittings, it leaked like crazy! Now a lasco fitting into a lasco fitting no problems with just dope. Pool...

    Pool pump housing leaking... suggestions?

If the pump got hot the fittings have shrunk. You may get away with silicone or more tape on the suction but for the outlet on top I would seriously consider replacing the fitting and installing a union, preferably one that can endure higher temperatures. The beauty of a union is if it leaks...

    Leaking threaded joints

It's really interesting how awful the fitting are on a lot of pool support gear... and the amount of teflon needed can change from year to year or batch to batch of filters, pumps, skimmers, etc. We started using Blue Monster because it required less but the last filter I put in needed eight...

Intex Purespa E90 error caused by bad flow switch

Just wondering if anyone has found a source for the parts needed to fix this issue. I've had the hot tub since 2017 and have repaired it several times so I know it pretty well. I wired the 2 leads together to test and make sure it was the switch and sure enough, it is so the tub is now running...

    Jandy DEV60 O-rings

Thank you for posting this! I own a small pool business and was shocked to find many of these o-rings are sold only as entire kits long with un-needed pieces and at stratospheric prices. All the manufactures seem to be doing this, having been in business for 35 years I remember a time when you...
