    URGENT - Please help!

It was 10%. I think I must have messed up on the size of drops on the first test.

    URGENT - Please help!

Thanks for the advice on the technique. I bet I was holding it sideways and had smaller drops. Yes I have Taylor 2006 kit. Most of it is 3 years old but I got new powder and chlorine test this year. I think I may have some algae growth. It has been crystal clear all summer with 100 plus temps...

    URGENT - Please help!

I put 2 gallons of liquid chlorine in this morning at 8AM. It read 14PPM at 10AM and just now 5ppm at 3PM. Is there any way 2 gallons could raise it from 0 to 14? Does that mean my CYA is way too low or did I get a misread on the first somehow?

    URGENT - Please help!

Yeah a gallon of chlorine is $5 at Walmart here in Oklahoma. Were you saying a SWG costs half as much to produce the same amount of chlorine?

    URGENT - Please help!

Separate question....How do I know for sure the salt cell is completely bad before dropping $900 on a new one? Also, I'm sure this has been researched but is the salt cell way more cost effective that just adding liquid chlorine each day?

    URGENT - Please help!

Thanks, the water is clear. I will do that first thing in the morning. I’m confused though. If the shock didn’t raise chlorine levels, will liquid chlorine. Also my Hayward dropper cya test never works correctly.

    URGENT - Please help!

So my AquaRite T15 Cell went down for the count 2 days ago I believe and my daughters 10th birthday is tomorrow. I tried cleaning the cell with 4:1 muriatic acid. It appeared to work very well on one side but not so much the other. The salt level dropped drastically after cleaning all the way...

Sand in pool - broken filter?

Have you found a way to get rid of it? We have slammed the pool, used tiger shark, brushed every day for 2 weeks. It comes back every day after the pump has run all night.

Sand in pool - broken filter?

It’s definitely not sand. The sand in the filter looks nothing like this. When brushed it clouds up into the pool.

Sand in pool - broken filter?

Is there any way it is mustard algae with a passed overnight chlorine loss test? It only shows up in the morning after the pump has been running.

Sand in pool - broken filter?

I’m at a loss on the cause. Can anyone offer some advice? At this point it’s an every day occurrence. When we didn’t run the pump it stayed clean. Is a deep clean of the sand filter the next step that should be taken?

Sand in pool - broken filter?

We passed the overnight chlorine loss test. We cleaned the pool 2 nights ago and didn’t run the filter. Woke up to a crystal clear pool, no dirt. Last night we ran the filter again and woke up to the dirty pool. The water is very clear though and all levels are good. I found this thread and...

Sand in pool - broken filter?

We live in Oklahoma and we’ve had what I thought was dirt in the pool from the heavy winds for the last 2 weeks. I’m starting to think it’s sand from our filter. I’ve noticed it’s usually in the morning when it shows up. (After our pump runs from 8pm to 8am. Last night we had the pool crystal...

Finally got it cleared up. We took a sample to the pool store and got 560 on phosphate levels. Any tips for products on the best way to bring those down?

    Opening Pool - Cloudy Water

I’ve been keeping the chlorine levels at 12 since Monday. It did help some but the water still looks cloudy to me. I did the overnight chlorine loss test and it went from 14.5 to 14. Could there be another issue as to why it’s not clearing up? I put in 4 pounds of stabilizer and a gallon of...
