For Sale: Polaris 9300 (also seeking fb on price, etc.)

Thanks. I just found two completed listings on ebay and sent the links to them. One was used for 3 months and sold for $550. The other was said to have been used only twice and sold for $625. I think that will give them an idea of what they might could get on ebay, but also confirm what you...

Do you think they would have any better luck if they just held onto it over the winter and then relisted it in the Spring?

For Sale: Polaris 9300 (also seeking fb on price, etc.)

I have a relative that is asking questions on how is the best way to sell this item. Right now they have it posted on craigslist but no one has responded. http://dallas.craigslist.org/ndf/hsh/3454702408.html Any advice on how their price is, anything they can add to the description, or a...

Trouble keeping Intex Easy Set Ring Inflated

We did not find our hole with soapy water, but were finally able to find it with bubbles, like you buy for kids. Think we saw the to on here. Supposed to be glycerin or something in it that keeps the solution from drying out and allows time for the leak to bubble. We inflated the ring as much...

    Howdy from Buffalo Gap, TX

Wow, so there are two big pools close to each other? (Since I thought I was told you went down through Buffalo Gap to get to Lake Abilene.) I'm going to have to google all this. :) Edit: Looked them up. Your can't see your pool too well because of all the trees surrounding it, but it looks...

    Howdy from Buffalo Gap, TX

Is that the big one by Lake Abilene? Spent a lot of time around Abilene growing up, but never got to go there when I was young or thin enough to be seen in a swimsuit in public!

    Help on test results

You need to forget about TA for now. You do need to shock, but you do not seem to be doing the shocking process correctly. You will need to be adding bleach often, hourly if possible. http://www.troublefreepool.com/pool-school/shocking_your_pool

    Newbie-GREEN Pool Help please

LOL, don't beat yourself up. A little over-bleaching is okay because you were testing in between and never let your levels get too high. As a side note, if you are on a computer, normally when you hold your cursor over the oz of bleach, it will tell you at the top how much that equates to in...

A gallon is 128 ounces. So, 227 oz is less than 2 gallons.

    Newbie-GREEN Pool Help please

The one thing I note, is that if you are doing the test correctly (using the 10ml sample size and not 25ml), then it seems like your FC ended up a lot higher than you had intended. Although, you said earlier (and it agrees with the pool calculator) that you need to add 227 ounces. So did you...

    TA Reading

I was actually referring to the 0.25 number, not the zero. But that is not the way you do the test. With the test, you count how many drops it takes to turn clear, not to turn pink. If you had no FC, but did have CCs, here is how the test would be run. Add the powder and since it didn't turn...

    TA Reading

What sample size did you use for testing chlorine. None will give you that result. It will either be 0.2 or 0.5 if it took 1 drop. If you used the 25ml sample size, 1 drop = 0.2, if you used the 10ml sample size, 1 drop = 0.5. Not so important now since one drop of CC is fine either way, but...

    need to lower my TA

Upon reading more, if you are confident in your 7.6 result, I would only add 20 ounces.

    need to lower my TA

Most tests can't accurately measure over 8.2, so that is why I used it. Whether you want to add 23 or 30 ounces, as you can see by both of these numbers, 128 oz would certainly be too much. I would guess that much would take you into the low 6s. Low pH is much worse than a somewhat high TA...

    need to lower my TA

Please do not add a full gallon of MA. You need to start with around 30 ounces, let circulate for 30 minutes, and retest. I plugged in 3400 gallons, TA of 200, and pH to go from 8.2 to 7.2. I got 30 ounces of MA.

    Getting frustrated - new comer

I certainly didn't think you were being rude! (And I hope I didn't sound that way!) I should have probably quoted underwatervanya in one post as she was the one who said it was because the goals at the bottom weren't set. I just wanted to make it clear that changing that doesn't change the...

    Getting frustrated - new comer

What do you have your goal for pH to be? (Second box over) Here is what I would come up with if I used the numbers you just gave me. I would put a FC goal in at 7, pH goal of 7.2, ignore TA goal, make CH goal match current so you don't get confused and try to change it, have CYA goal of 40...

    Getting frustrated - new comer

It doesn't matter if I have the goals setup or not - that doesn't change the calculation for how much acid to add to lower pH at a certain TA level. I did not mess with FC. I was only showing you pH. If it makes you feel better, I changed the bottom and you can see it does not effect the...

    Getting frustrated - new comer

What numbers are you plugging in? I can't get anything to match. That should drop you about 0.8, but just want to make sure you are using the calculator correctly. This is the closest I can come up with:

    New to BBB - questions.

Many years ago when I was in college I bought a shirt. Seemed fine in the store and in my closet. However, when I wore it, after about an hour, it developed this strange odor to it. Almost a chemical smell. I washed it many, many times in various detergents, no dryer, lower dryer, hot dryer...

    Getting frustrated - new comer

If you FC is under 10, you need to retest pH and add enough muriatic acid to lower it to around 7.2. Make sure your TA number is entered into the calculator or it won't compute correctly. Not sure how many gallons your pool holds, but if it was around 4000 gallons, with a TA of 325, it would...

I don't know that you can actually compare fabrics the way that you did. It may be a proprietary ingredient in the blend or some chemical used in the manufacturing process.

Have you tried applying sunscreen over most of your chest before you put on your swimsuit. Wondering if the sun or uv rays are coming through your wet suit to unprotected, sensitive area. The detergent was the next thing I was going to say.

    Can You Help Me?

For pH, at the minimum, you need to enter in gallons, current TA, current pH, target pH. Yes, you put your current in the first box and what you want it to be in the next box. Because TA changes how much acid is required, that is why it HAS to be entered into the calculator first. I entered...

    Can You Help Me?

Like linen said, don't worry too much about it. Mine starts out close to 350. Sitting around 225 now. Add muratic acid to lower your pH to 7.2 when it gets to 7.8. As you repeat the cycle, your TA will lower. Make sure you have your TA entered into the pool calculator when figuring out how...

Based on what others here did, my husband rigged this up from scrap pvc we had laying around. May still need to tweak it a bit.
