Pool math - Effects of Adding Bleach - Bleach percentage stange behavior

    Hi, Using Pool math to simulate the effects of adding bleach with various percentages is returning strange values. For example, to the amount of 1 liter of Bleach: Bleach percentage / Raise FC 0 to 5% / 4.2 6% / 4.7 7% / 6.5 8% / 6.5 9% / 7.7 10% / 7.7 11 to 100% / 9.6 From 11% to 100%...

Preparing to SLAM... very low CYA, use Diclhorine?

Yes, I have access to plain bleach. But the concentration is very low, the max I found was 2.5%. Maybe I can find it more concentrated in specialized chemical stores. As I already have the poudered chlorines, I did not search much. Regarding the tests, I'll use 10ml water to save reagents...

Preparing to SLAM... very low CYA, use Diclhorine?

Hi folks, My Taylor K-2006C Kit arrive yesterday (unfortunately the TF-100 cannot be send to Brazil), and I did a full test: FC: 1.2 CC: 0.6* pH: 7.4 TA: 90 CH: 375 CYA: 0** t: 28ºC CSI: -0.03 (I added 70g of Dichlor aiming rise the FC 3ppm.) * I'm using a magnetic stirrer, the solution...

Handheld meter - pH / mV / ion / Temp

Another question, does the "low ionic strength" pH electrode correctly work on the high ionic strength pool water?

Handheld meter - pH / mV / ion / Temp

Yes, the pH electrode was dry. I tried to calibrate it using pH buffers, after leaving it in a KCl solution overnight, without success. I must buy a new one. As you said that almost all pools have high ionic strength water, I'll buy the regular (less expensive) one. Regarding the others...

    Hello from Brazil!

Hello, I am from Brazil and in my house we have a little swimming pool. I´m starting to care of the water myself. Searching information on the Internet I found the TFP forum and spent some days reading it, learning a lot. Definitely the best resource around. Thanks for sharing the knowledge...
