2 speed pump stopped working at high speed (low works fine)

Update: windings were shot. Had to buy a variable speed pump to replace. CA won't let pool owners buy a 2 speed any more, must be variable speed. Awesome. All good now.

2 speed pump stopped working at high speed (low works fine)

So my next steps will be to check voltages and test relays (I just need to find tutorials on these) I also ordered another cap, a different brand, just to validate I didn't install a defective one with the first replacement)

2 speed pump stopped working at high speed (low works fine)

I switch speeds via Hayward OmniLogic controller, so that would be via relay(I assume) in the OmniLogic controller box

Sure, here are a few more pics with the top and back covers off as well as the box from the capacitor I replaced. (Old and new caps are the identical)

2 speed pump stopped working at high speed (low works fine)

Didn't seem to be an issue but I'll change it when I get back to working on it, thanks for letting me know

2 speed pump stopped working at high speed (low works fine)

Here is the info on the pump. I believe it is a tristar. Top capacitor has 2 leads. I'll take the back cover off but I'm betting there is a cap in there like everyone is saying and I'll replace it and see what happens.

2 speed pump stopped working at high speed (low works fine)

Video of the issue Pump is a few years old. This morning it decided to stop running on high but works fine on low. I think it ran on high correctly for a bit when it started this morning because I heard the spillover this morning. If I try to switch from low to high it attempts to start but...

My numbers seem ok but I still get algae in some spots on the walls every 10 days

Update: I went on vacation so I didn't do a SLAM. I brushed down all the minor algae and ran a super chlorinate the night before I left I did test my CYA at 80 and FC at 9 the next morning before I left. came back 10 days later to a still algae free pool. Seems I need to keep a higher FC than...

My numbers seem ok but I still get algae in some spots on the walls every 10 days

I promise you my FC is between 5 and 5.5. I haven't added any, the chlorine generator takes care of it. This is why I am confused about the algae appearing. I did notice a miniscule amount in the threads for the top of my leaf catcher and a few spots on the pool cleaner vacuum. I'm going to...

My numbers seem ok but I still get algae in some spots on the walls every 10 days

Mostly where the sun hits the pool walls the most. Is this normal? The pool store employee said I shouldn't get any if my water is balanced. My alkalinity is just on the edge of being high but I can't imagine this is the cause. CYA is in range but on the low side. FC is 5.5 (I boosted the...

Any Omnilogic experts in here? System on endless bootup

Yes. I have a bad network cable and when I unplugged it from the head unit the OmniLogic finally booted up completely. I am not sure why the bad cable caused this, that part doesn't make sense to me. Now I have the pleasure of pulling a new cable. Fun times, lol!

Any Omnilogic experts in here? System on endless bootup

Any Omnilogic experts here? I'm having an issue with an endless boot cycle I am not sure what is going on with my unit. (installed 9 years ago) We went away for the weekend. At some point the Omnilogic board stopped communicating with the network. Looked like a bad RJ45 cable based on my...

What the heck is in my water?

I did use a 10mm sample. I have no soft water at the house. I also tested my fill water source and it tested at 350. Pool was finished Oct 2015

What the heck is in my water?

Update: I received my test kit. Calcium hardness test showed between 1000 and 1250! I did the test twice and may have miscounted a few drops. But it's high enough to know I need to empty the water. My refill water CH is 350. So I know what I need to do next, but how do I get rid of the...

What the heck is in my water?

I have ordered the tf100-pro but wanted this as a backup. But recalibrating it after any chemical input is silly. I'll cancel the order.

What the heck is in my water?

So I had bought a tf-k2006 kit from Amazon but I'll cancel it and get what you all recommended in this thread I did test the flakes and they fizzed as expected I'm going to assume I do need to empty some of the water and replace it but I'll wait until I get the test kit and validate my...

What the heck is in my water?

Thank you for the input. I had ordered a salt meter : Amazon.com: eSeasonGear SALT-3000 Meter, Digital Salinity PPM Temperature Tester for Salt Water Pool and Koi Fish Pond: Industrial & Scientific Are these considered unreliable?
