Thanks for the quick response. I've read that these blowers are powerful, I just cant justify the purchase of a $350 blower that would have no other function than the 5 minutes each year it takes to blow out the lines.

I purchased the bungee type plugs (Aqua Group) last year for closing off my return lines into the pool and like the concept but my large shopvac had a very hard time creating enough force to open them so that the water can be blown out of the line. I now see Anderson makes a "winter duck plug"...

I have 2 leftover bags of pool salt that were stored in my shed and have solidified over the winter. Salt looks okay, nice and white, etc Can i add a large chunk of pool salt directly into pool? thanks. John

Hi Jim, Isnt a check-valve placed there to prevent backflow of water which helps on start-up with a quicker prime and also to prevent potential backflow of DE from filter? If you say I dont need one I'll just leave it out

Stupid pool contractor used cheap union-- which has now cracked-- and no room to cut it off and replace with a new union ( union is glued right up against the valve) so valve is useless. eveything is glued.
