I did the slam protocol for several days already- and it did get rid of the combined chlorine I had present! I have to slam until it’s clear? Kids want to swim! I’ve never had this hard of a time. Thank you!

Started SLAM. I added CYA last night and today it looks just below 30, should I wait till tmrw to add more? Free chlorine was 8.5 Cc was 2.5 Ph was 7.2 I added 2 gallons of shock and today Free chlorine is 13. CC is 0 Oh is now 8.2 (not accurate right? Should I expect this to go back down...

We dropped the ball. We took the cover off to early and it took much longer than expected to get the pool filled high enough to run. In that time, the pool turned green! It’s running now, how many gallons of shock would you start off with?! Thanks

Yes- I’ll be covering it today hopefully It’s always been clear when I close it, just throwing in two gallons liquid shock, and always clear come spring. So just wasn’t sure what to make of this! I didn’t check CYA

Ok! Thanks everyone- I just tested the CC with my kit- getting a 0.2 CC level Chlorine is 8.5 CYA is 40 Pool is clear. Guess I’m done for tonight! :) Thanks!

Yes- pool store results when I want to test CYA- I use liquid chlorine to shock the pool

Do I need to wait a certain amount of time after adding liquid cya to add Shock?

Yes- it says you need cc to be .5 or lower as one is the criteria-

I will reread it- do I need to slam if cc of .89ppm?

I thought I had to bring to shock level everytime the chlorine went down below the required range based on the CYA! I guess I misunderstood that! CC 0.89 ppm No other issues- pool is clear-
