Yes you guys are right. My bad. It does drop to zero when I turn to MD only. My normal running pressure when set half and half is 14psi. Its when I turn my wall return off when pressure jumps up.

Yes it seems to be working. When I remove the locking lid and pull the long mesh sock thing out there was some debris in it. When the pump is running I can see flowing water running through it.

Great thanks guys. Just vacuumed my pool via the skimmer. Everything went well. Good suction and now the bottom of the pool is dirt free. Next, on to my iron problem and chemical balancing.

The Aerator labled arrow is pointing at the valve. The blue hose runs to the side of yard so I assume that is for backwash. Also, keep in mind I did my best to read the old markings on these valves though most not so legible. So, they may be incorrect. See updated pics above of skimmer basket...
