I currently have a Hasa Liquid Chlorine injector, but see that the inline puck injectors have really come down in price. So I'm just wondering which is cheaper, pucks vs liquid, and the pros vs cons for each.

Thanks Linen, I'll get a larger filter, looking at the Hayward C1200, but I'm going to look and see what other brands are out there as well.

So last question. If I have to spend money, is it better to go larger filter or smaller pump. It looks about even on the cost, or at least very close.

Cool, well thanks for everyones help and input. Now I just have to see which is better, smaller pump or larger filter. I'm always one for going bigger, hence the 1HP pump, but I'll have to see on the cost difference.

No, just particulate. I think the overpressure and a few times that I did have alge blooms, may have damaged the filters so now its not filtering, just blowing past.

My filters are both Hayward filters, the dealer gave me two when I bought the system. The clean pressure is about 13psi, by the time I swap them they are up to about 22psi. I'm having to rinse them every other day and clean them every weekend.

The pump came off a sand filter we had, it didn't come with the c500.

Is the method I'm using to clean the filters causing them to get permantly clogged up? Soaking in dish soap/water overnight, then completly rinsing, then soaking in muratic acid/water solution for about two hours, then rinsing. The tub is a plastic kitchen trash can, about 20 Gallons or so...

Is there a big difference between cartridge filter manufactures, are there some better than others? At this point, if I don't change out my system, then my best option seems to be get new filters. For the C500, my Pool Stealer wan't $75 ea. but I see them on Amazon for $28 each.

Looking at the maintenance on the Perflex, I can't see a big difference from that and the cartridge filter.

We have an AG 18' Doughboy pool, that we are looking at moving up to DE filtration. I've been looking at the Hayward Perflex Extended-Cycle, EC50AC. Anyone have any experience with this system, any thoughts or ideas? Is there any drawbacks to moving up to DE?

I just tested with the TG-100 DPD, my FC is 3 and my CC is 0. So I'll do the overnight drop test and see what it does, but have to do that once my pump turns off and test it again, since I have a chlorine injector.
