    Pentair Intelliflo VSF cover

Thanks everyone, for all the suggestions! Yesterday afternoon, I disconnected the leaf canister - took it out altogether - then I futzed around with the hose connections, 0ne of them was very loose and came undone when I turned the whole thing off... E verything is humming along nicely! I will...

    Pentair Intelliflo VSF cover

I have, but now I'm wondering if the leaf canister is not cracked somewhere, going by the gurgling I just heard... That would be an easy, inexpensive fix!

    Pentair Intelliflo VSF cover

It does lose prime, or at least, I think it does, I tried to attach a video, but the file is too large... BUT... this only happens when the vacuum is attached, seems alright when it's just the skimmer basket, it never stops then, and the heater doesn't throw up the FLO error code

    Pentair Intelliflo VSF cover

Ok... I connect the vacuum hose directly into the skimmer, it has an attachment where you regulate the speed of the vacuum... The pump primes beautifully without the vacuum, if just the skimmer basket is in. Something else, the heater has an error code of FLO when the vac is in, this means it's...

    Pentair Intelliflo VSF cover

Got it. Will order one today. To be fair, it is a small space and there is very little room to maneuver the opening of this gasket, that's why I had kept it so loose previously, but still, even my husband has a hard time prying it open... The other reason why I need to be able to open myself...

    Pentair Intelliflo VSF cover

I have tried running it at every setting, always the same... it will start trying to prime, then bubbles, big bubbles, and then... stops and priming failure Tech leaves it so tight, he said if it is not tight, this will happen, but now it happens even if tight. I do have a rubber mallet, Is...

    Pentair Intelliflo VSF cover

Yes, it was cleaned and lubed - I suppose the other question is: is there another type of cover that would be easier to open, or some kind of tool that would help open it, *if* it needs to be so tight?

    Pentair Intelliflo VSF cover

For the past several weeks I'm having issues with the vacuum and the clamp cover to the filter basket - I can't help but think they are related... I used to be able to hook up the vacuum easily, and it was never a problem to switch from vacuum to skimmer basket. (I cannot have both, as a...

    Hayward Navigator is misbehaving!

Our little guy is being a bit naughty and rebellious... He used to do a great job, cleaning a perfect pattern overnight, but lately, he is only cleaning certain areas and ignoring others, he is also not going up the walls as much as he used to.... also, he seems to be getting tangled a lot in...

    Neighbor's Pool....

We happened to look over our fence and noticed that our neighbor's pool is a lovely shade of greenish dark blue... we are sure he doesn't clean it... we also know he has limited funds with which to tend to his house with. We are willing to help, but are not quite so familiar with him as to just...

    Stained pool?

UPDATE! The chlorine tabs helped a bit, so I called in the pool company and we drained the pool, they did an acid wash, and the plaster came up pretty clean - Not spotless, but enough for the summer, at least - Recommendation was to refinish, at some point, with mini pebble and that would...

    Stained pool?

The vitamin C tabs did nothing...:cautious: The Jack's Kit arrived, but the water temp is below 60f, I will try heating it this weekend and attempt the kit

Ah, no... we have a 6 month old, whiz-bang, AquaCal electric heat pump - I just update my signature line! ;)

The stained areas are slightly rough, but the same texture as the non-stained areas When you say "the heat exchanger is dissolving" - what does that mean, please?

    Stained pool?

Source of copper? Not sure... I do live in Arizona, the "copper state" and the water that fills the pool comes straight from the city pipes... The heater is electric. I have not tried an acid wash, I was waiting for the Jack's Stain Kit, or at least a tablet of Vitamin C, which I just got. As...

    Stained pool?

The results are from the pool company that comes once a week... I think what you are seeing as cracks is the reflection of the power lines? not losing water... I will try a better photo when the sun comes up, lol!

    Stained pool?

For the past several weeks we have had these stains on the pool bottom and steps... brushing and vacuuming has not removed them. The pool guy says it is the concrete showing through the plaster? I don't want to believe that (if I don't have to!) as it was just re-done 3 years ago by the previous...

    Electric versus Gas Heaters

Wow, Thanks! We do have gas, but the run between the pool and the meter has now been covered in cement, so don't really want to dig that up! Also, Mom will only go in the pool when it is over 85 or 90, so need to keep it warm from now until at least November. I suspect I may be able to turn the...

    Electric versus Gas Heaters

Hello! So I do live in Arizona, and looking to have a heat pump installed - any recommendations on brand, etc...? Do I go with a big *national* pool company offering me free installation or is it better to order one and have it installed? First pool ever, so not sure about all the ins and outs...
