Judith- almost all the crews are subcontractors. mine just finished filling today. I'm actually happy with how it turned out all things and price considered. I actually took the low bid as the higher priced companies seemed to have issues as well.... I plan on waiting a few weeks before I...
So i ended up going with the standard CLI suntone antigua and very happy with how it turned out.....
Just finished filling in these pics - untreated water. (except for the filter on the pool portion).
addtl stairs to eliminate the slope are going to be added tmrw as well..
so it appears its too late to change as they are going to plaster and fill tmrw. pebble would take a few weeks to order. My wallet will thank me. Oh well one of those things you focus on and in the end there are...
Yeah I’ve heard the same thing about pebble being far superior to a white based quartz. I’ve also seen friends who have 5-7 yr old “diamond brite” that looks horrible even with consistent makntwnce. (not sure if it’s actually DB but it seems to be the term used for all quartz).
My pool builder...

heres the slope pb claimed was built "flat like the plans". lol amazing talk about a death trap. still fighting them to correct with stairs but they insist on change order...

no the next question i have a day to decide the interior finish...
ha. yes it's the same builder hands down they also told me antigua was the most popular. I'm about to plaster with antigua this week but tempted to change it to a darker cli pebble.
Can i ask who the pool builder is? i'm in process and about to get plaster this week....what color sunstone did you do by the way? I'm on the fence and can't deceide if i want to upgrade to cli crystal stone.
I have been told by multiple pool builders down here "there's no need to water...
thanks Kim! the good thing about the king alexanders is they don't shed alot.....not like a coconut etc....
maybe try and make it terraced so it can also act as a built in bench....
thanks thats the plan.....next issue is the space behind pool with a 12" slope over 4-5'. I can't expose anymore of the pool so i will need to have the slope...was planing on a row of king alexander palm trees behind the pool. maybe some kind of bench / terrace across the back build with pavers?
the only thing im worried about is the spa spillway that I was under the impression was to be a "knife edge" turned out to slope towards the pool. Not sure I want to have them re-tile and risk having issues.....
the quartz sunstone antigua looks a lot better in person! and it saves me $2k by going with quartz ...... also less risk or streaking etc....and LED's will look better at night.
also i love the blue tile looks alot better in person....
work has slowed so my master addition can be completed ...... but have decided I'm going with cl industries sunstone antgua quartz finish. Heres an example of the color ....
just an fyi i just ordered a set of 2 ledge loungers from the factory- they still have "factory seconds" (returns or used for photoshoots etc) in stock for $400 ea.....
i know not cheap but almost half the retail price.....
Thanks all!!! I was told by pb that the pebble finish is less likely to streak is that true? I’m thinking a pebble finish- cl industries crystal stones color. tropical or majestic isle......
went with the darker blue...... progress so far.....

next question....should i upgrade with a darker plaster? was planning on CL industries sunstone antigua....
but maybe I should look at the crystal stones majestic isle?
ok. my first instinct on the lighter bule with "waves patter" or whatever you want to call it looks kind of tacky and feel like I might get sick of it in a few years.....almost looks too "fake" to me...
still have a day left to choose tile. having second thoughts on the darker blue. above is another option.....thoughts ?

this is the darker blue that i posted earlier.......
Thanks Bdavis thats what I thought. It passed plumbing inspection which is odd i need to check on code.
My lot is on a canal- fill piled on top of what what was pulled from canal coral etc backfill....
So my plumbing and electrical just passed inspections. I was told by my gc (not associated with the pool builder) that the area around the plumbing pipes should be “submerged/ surrounded / filled” with some sand instead of the more compacted fill that came out of the trenches. Is this right ?
thanks kim!! do you remember the build or name that I could search it by chance?
yeah i figure the white grout will at least match with the plaster....
