    New pool accessory

Found this in pool after very cold night. Guess he's looking for a warmer place than the ponds or rivers around here when it gets real cold. At first thought he was trapped in pool, but turned out he got out after a few hours of playing and resting on the tubing of the Polaris.

    Problems with SAVI LED lights

Since pool was installed, about 1 1/2 years ago, I've had to replace all three SAVI LED lights. Just the other day, one of the replacements went out. I only have the lights on about 4 hours a night. Spa version of light has never had problem. Was wondering if anyone has had issues or...

    What's your current pool temp?

85 (OK the Heat Pump is running). Overnight the temp is dropping to about 80 with cover and upper 70's without. Everyone was in pool durring the Saint's half time. No complaints if I'm in the pool November 4th.

    Running spa seperate from Pool

Yes the plumbing is such that I can seperate the spa from the pool with one pump and heater and run the pump, heater and salt system unique to each one. I do plan on keeping the pool open but may not heat after a certain point. I guess what I'm actually asking would be is it better or...

    Running spa seperate from Pool

I have a spillover spa that currently is always in spillover mode unless the spa is on. I'm wondering as cooler weather approaches sometime in October (for us in south La.) if I should shut the spillover off, cover the spa and keep it filtered and heated separately from the pool. Right now to...

Possible to piggyback actuators on Goldline Control

First, already have 4 valve actuators running on this system. While doing final walk through with PB we found out our spa return pipe does not have a check valve installed. As a result of this the water drains from the spa whenever the filter is off or the system is in spa only mode. This...

    When to run Heat Pump

Thanks for the great info. The heater is a RayPak (rheem) 8300ti, 137000 BTU. I'll probably do some evaluation over the comming months and see how electric bill is affected along with how the heating goes. Will try to track things so I can post something meaningfull for others next spring.

    Natural Rock Sealant with SWCG

I have no experience with natural rock, but I used a product called Deck-O-Sheild to seal our brick and mortor waterfall. The product says it's specifically for natural rock waterfalls and protects against salt issues. The site is : http://www.deckoseal.com/system.htm but I had a heck of a...

    When to run Heat Pump

Thanks, Being from south Louisiana, we don't get much of a winter so I'm hoping to keep pool at good temperature through November and start heating things up again in March but still use the spa all winter if possible. Anyone from this part of the country with good or bad experiences using...

    DwnSth's Pool

Thanks for the nice comments. We're on the North Shore near Covington. I fired first PB because he moved incredibly slow. Had said he only had two jobs, turned out he had at least 6 going, no one happy. After 8 months and with only panels in place he wouldn't commit to finishing the job in a...

    DwnSth's Pool

Finally after 10 months of difficulties and firing one PB our pool is done. Our backyard had been in complete dissarray since Katrina so it's very nice to have a usable pool and yard.

    When to run Heat Pump

I'm a very new pool owner and we had a heap pump installed with our pool. Since we live in S.E. Louisiana I haven't had much chance to run this yet other than heating the spa a night (very quickly I might add). Are there any suggestions for how often and when the H.P. should be run. I'd like...

    Goldline Aqualogic Controller

Also on the Aqualogic systems you can use up a relay as a group function. On my system (PS8) I use one relay to control all lights (3 in pool one in spa). My set up is a bit odd one light in pool on one relay, two other lights in pool on another relay and the spa on yet another relay...

Question on Colorlogic pool light, is one enough?

I can't say for sure on the colorlogic but I just had 3 Nexus Savi 12v Leds installed in my 41 x 22 pool (mountain pond shape). We debated for some time and the builder thought we were going to have overkill with the # of lights. 3 is almost perfect. In retrospect, 4 would have actually been...

Builder rinsing grout sponge in pool?

Thanks, I didn't think this was normal but know know nothing about the actual processes these pool builders use. This has been a long haul to get this far. Since October '06 on second PB and spent far too much money (and this is a vinyl liner). Now, if I can get these guys to respond to my...

Builder rinsing grout sponge in pool?

Hi all, Just found this site, whish I had found it months ago. Finally after many months of trials and trouble, our pool is starting to enter the last phases of build. It's a 22x41 vinyl liner mountain pond. We've had water in the pool for weeks but only got equipment turned on about 4 days...
