    A newbie DIY pool build

Yeah I was a little worried about that but it wasn't a big deal. A good saw blade and drill bit did the trick. I was hoping to get it oiled this year but the weather isn't cooperating so looks like a next year job. I will say the stuff is heavy though, the 2x12x12 stair stringers weighed a ton.

Oh Thanks, Bin in the house 7 years and still don't have a usable deck. Will be nice to finally get to use it next year. I'm into next to no maintenance so I went with Ipe decking and glass railing. Should only have to oil the Ipe every two years.

    A newbie DIY pool build

This year we finished the retaining walls, started the water feature wall, and built the wood deck minus the railing which I am still waiting on the city to approve my revision to a glass railing.

    A newbie DIY pool build

Well a lot has gone on since I posted here last. The pool has been up and running for a couple years and I am finally finishing off the deck, patio around the pool and water features. Thought I would update on some of the rest of the pool build. I left off with the bottom poured so the next...

    Water Feature filter

Sorry for the late reply, I didn't get an email. Yes I am running almost two separate systems. The only shared part is one of the returns which I have an actuator to go from pool pump suction to water feature pump suction. I can turn the water features on easily from my PS8 and it allows me to...

    Water Feature filter

Thanks for the reply. I ended up getting a Jandy CS100 filter. I am using the tristar to pump 3 sheer descents as well as two laminar deck jets. The intake is from one of the skimmers and I do have to keep the water level up in order to run the system. The skimmer is my only option. No wall suc...

    Water Feature filter

I am finally up to the water feature part of my pool build. I just want to enquire about which filter I should use. I have a hayward waterfall pump and want to filter the water before returning to the pool. The intake for the water comes from one of the skimmers and the return is 3 sheer descent...

Seeking opinions on a bad situation

You are better to loose $500 now then the thousands this PB was going to try and chisel out of you. I think you made the right choice! Same old story give a cheap price and then make it up in extras( and then some by the sounds of it). Live...learn...move on.

Seeking opinions on a bad situation

I agree with phonedave, I am an excavator with 30 years experience working with soil engineers on a regular basis and I have yet to see an engineer evaluate a whole job on one tiny test hole. I am always asked to dig down to the proposed elevation and if a soil condition still exists at that...

    Floating Liner***Help***

Thanks LT3, I think you are correct about the spillover spa. The bottom of the spillway is supposed to have a decorative cover so you can't see up inside. I had not installed it and without it the water flows nicely into the pool. The night before the liner floated I installed that cover and it...

    Floating Liner***Help***

Thanks for the reply, Would drilling some holes through the vermiculite and concrete floor under the liner allowing trapped water to drain into the limestone and sump system below the pool be a good idea?
