    New leak at filter multi-valve

Kevin, thanks! I tried mounting the assembly again, being careful to tighten as you described. Wow! no leak at the arrow, but a teeny one at the collar. Still tentative about opening up the top, as that white "pin" seems to be pretty permanently installed. I don't want to pry it off with...

    New leak at filter multi-valve

Bama, if there is a model number, I sure can't find it. There is a COD on the tank: 21786A. Both valve and tank are from Advantage Mfg, but I'm pretty sure that the valve is compatible with a Hayward 711 or 714T. Where would the pin be if there was one?

    New leak at filter multi-valve

Unfortunately, mine doesn't have bolts--I don't see an obvious way to get the top off.

    New leak at filter multi-valve

Also, if I chose to replace the whole valve assembly, how can I tell if what I buy will fit my sand tank?

    New leak at filter multi-valve

Thanks for answering, Jason. I only took the valve assembly off the tank, I didn't take it apart. And I am not getting leakage from the waste port. The big O-ring at the base of the valve assembly is in good shape. I lubed it good when I put the whole thing together a couple of years ago...

    New leak at filter multi-valve

Could you guys help me diagnose? I just replumbed my system to include a solar heater, and took the opportunity to look inside my zeosand filter, rinse, etc. Now it's leaking from under the top where the valve handle is. Does this sound familiar to anybody? What should I look for?

Would be helpful in repairing a leak in a vinyl liner, too.

    Above ground pool issue

Greetings and welcome! May I suggest, from my own experience, that one of the best investments that you can make for your pool is a more comprehensive test kit? As BlakeJ said, one of the ways we balance our pool water is to know our levels for Cyanuric Acid (CYA, or...

New fiberglass pool is full of cracks... HELP!

Michael, I would be so frustrated if I were in your shoes. You are a stand-up guy to handle this in the way that you have and you're a great role model for your kids. Hoping for the best possible outcome for you and your family.

Fine Dirt on Bottom of Pool

Fish, it's really windy and dusty here, too, and I almost always have those little silt piles. A filter sock in the skimmer helps, and we always make sure to stir up the dust when we're swimming to make sure it circulates thru the filter, but there is always a little bit of it because red dust...

Daily storage of Intex debris cover ??

Hi, fitchers bird. A cheap, easy and flexible solution for me was a resin patio storage box. I put it right next to the pool. Got it from Amazon for about 70 bucks with free shipping. It has the advantage of being movable, and it holds all the bits and pieces everything I don't want to blow...

    Please? Help replacing skimmer gaskets?

I'm doing an upgrade to my little pool--putting in an appropriate-size pump, adding a solar heater, swapping some hard pipe for spa-flex so as to minimize a couple of awkward runs. Here are my questions: 1. While the water level is below the skimmer and return, I intend to replace the...

    Solar cover disintegraging!

Mine go pretty quickly, but our pool is open year round, with a lot of solar radiation. My first cover (8mm blue) fell apart after about a year and a half. I upgraded to one of the clear, heavy duty (expensive!) ones (diamond pattern) and it fell apart in about 6 months. We have decided to...

    Solar cover FAIL

I found my documentation, contacted the company, and they have asked me to send a 12"x12" piece. No problem. Got plenty of pieces. They will honor the warranty, no problem. I will have to pay for shipping, though. In the meantime, I got a super-cheap bubble cover for thirteen bucks--one of...

No, especially over the last 6 months. Our pool is salt, though--would that make a difference?

    Solar cover FAIL

Some of you may remember that I was trying to gain a little big more heat at the beginning and end of our season. I bought one of those clear, heavy-duty, 12 mil solar covers with the diamond shaped bubbles. I noticed a difference at first--got a small heat gain right away and much better...

Need your input on solar heater

Bliever, your post is extremely helpful to me, as I also have a small pool. I had already decided to take the heating process by baby steps, because we don't need that much of an increase, and your post confirmed that even a small system might be too much for us. We have to keep the pool...

Need your input on solar heater

I saw the spiral setup online, too. I'm watching this thread with interest, since I have a spot on the paved drive next to the pool (south facing, angled down, no shade) that I think could work nicely and require minimal plumbing runs. Also interested in people's experiences with the...
