How to replace a tanning ledge bubbler light?

How does one remove a bubbler light from the pool? I have a SAVI bubbler light that is about a foot down inside a vertical tube that's on the tanning ledge, and I am not sure if I am supposed to be draining the pool down to completely empty the tanning ledge to take that light out. Has anyone...

    THEPOOLGUYSTORE.COM

I know, this is an old thread. But for the sake of others reading this thread in future, just as I did years after the thread was created, I just want to say that I ordered the PLC 1400 SWG from thepoolguystore.com and they shipped it for free over UPS within 2 business days of placing the...

In North Texas... When is it best to run the pump during summer?

Well darn it. It looks like the SWG cell is indeed close to its death. It is still breaking up the salt into chlorine, but the beeping and error code are back. Sigh... I just ordered a new cell.

In North Texas... When is it best to run the pump during summer?

I use the TF-100 kit. The water chemistry is now good, except for FC. It's just that we had a ton of rain this past weekend and I had just finished the SLAM process. I am still waiting for the FC to drop below 10. It's been declining slowly but steadily since Friday. I had the SWG off until...

I had never heard about the correct RPM to determine the clean filter pressure. Thank you!

In North Texas... When is it best to run the pump during summer?

Well dang it. It looks like my SWG may be on its way out 🙁 I heard beeping and holding down the D key gives me code 120. I am cleaning it now (water&muriatic acid), so we'll see if that fixes it. Else, gulp...

Yes! I always go through that as well. Lol

In North Texas... When is it best to run the pump during summer?

Thanks. Yes, crystal clear water now. So I have now cleaned the filter completely and refilled with DE. I am running at 1800 24/7 for now until I am comfortable with the chemistry and these weekend rains have subsided.

In North Texas... When is it best to run the pump during summer?

It looks like 1200 RPM was not allowing the SWG to kick in and do its job. I had a lot of algae this time around in March/April and I had never had this problem. I am in the process of doing the SLAM procedure. Gonna have to go up to 1300 RPM or revert back to my original configuration.

In North Texas... When is it best to run the pump during summer?

So, according to the Aqualink interface, I consume the same total watts by running at 1700 RPM for 8.5 hours a day as compared to running 24/7 at 1200 RPMs. So, I am going to stick to 1200 RPMs 24/7 for now. I used to also run the SWG for 4+ hours (50% of the pump running time) and that kept...

In North Texas... When is it best to run the pump during summer?

Thanks. That makes sense, but I am not sure how to determine if the SWG and filter "work" (or don't work) :) The water features do come on every day for a few minutes, just to circulate the water in those pipes. Those are only on for prolonged periods when we manually turn them on. So, I...

In North Texas... When is it best to run the pump during summer?

That was the time & RPM that the Jandy tool recommended for my pool setup. @All: Thanks for all the input! I am going to try running it at a lower rpm for 24/7 and see how that goes. I do like all the added benefits you've all mentioned and also the look of it when the pump is running. And...

In North Texas... When is it best to run the pump during summer?

I run it for 8.5 hours daily, at 1700 RPM. I had a calculator from Jandy at some point that I used to calculate that time and RPM to use to make sure the water volume would be all circulated once every day. I did not calculate the power usage on that as I basically just accepted that I had to...

In North Texas... When is it best to run the pump during summer?

Yes, I meant evaporation rate would increase if water features are on. Re: running pump 24/7: I will need to calculate the impact to my electricity usage. Curious: why does it feel wrong to you to be in the pool with pump off?

In North Texas... When is it best to run the pump during summer?

Thanks. I have water features that probably cool the water through evaporation, but I am also trying to avoid having to replace additional evaporated water.

In North Texas... When is it best to run the pump during summer?

So, given our blistering temperatures this summer, I am wondering if the soil acts as a bit of a heat sink cooling the water as it moves through the buried pipes when the pump is running... If so, then what would be best: keep the VS pump running from 10:00 AM to 6:00 pm (to actively cool...

Both lights gone dim at same time?

I need to figure out how to remove the SAVI light from the pool. Anyone know the correct process?

Both lights gone dim at same time?

I removed and disassembled the pentair light and there was no water in it. The LEDs (well, certainly the white one) have failed. You can see that in the photo I took while briefly powering it on outside the pool. I set it to WHITE and the RED leds were by far the brightest :-(

Yeah, all the connections are good. I checked at the transformer and also at the junction box near the pool. Gonna go figure out how to take them out to check for water inside. Thx!

Both lights gone dim at same time?

I have a Pentair 5G Intellibrite and a SAVI Color LED bubbler pool light. These have gotten at most 50 hours of use in total for the past 4-5 years. Last night I went to turn them on and they came on, but they were both quite dim. Also, the SAVI can display all the colors (green, blue, white...

Would you buy one with the remote control feature again?

Sorry, not sure I understand your question. FYI, I am leaning towards NOT having a remote because, just like Jim, I only used it once or twice in the few years I had the robot. But, I am interested to hear what benefit others find in the capability...

Thanks. That's a good point about not pulling on the cable because it has a swivel... My current one does not have a swivel and so I did pull it towards the edge of the pool using the cable.

    dolphin at end of life?

I hope your issue is simply the tracks. To your question about whether or not these things, given the high monetary investment, last a while... The answer is NO.
