See pix. They have got to the sand at the very edge of pool which has collapsed liner. What can be done to give support back to the liner? Divert the moles to prevent further damage?

I just reread this and wanted to make sure I understand that filling the entire 12" of trench with rock is the better way if I'm not worried about having grass to the edge?
