Ugh I just realized today that the bleach has changed. Always get it at Costco. I’ve put in 10 or so bottles by now. Any response from Clorox as to what to do to get these polymers out of the pool and whether it’s safe to swim in them? Or if they are going to screw up my filter or pump? Ugh...

My sand filter has a crack in it and needs replacement--wondering if we should switch to a DE filter. I know DE cleans better, but I feel a little intimidated with a switch....the sand is so easy, and I think my pool stays pretty clean. I have a Hayward 1 HP Power Flow Matrix for a 21' AG pool.

How long can a 3 year old vinyl liner sit without water (due to the liner coming out of its bead and the pool emptying out), before it is considered unusable due to shrinkage or other things? Thanks for your input!

I am understanding that there is a working relationship between CYA and FC....the higher the CYA, the more FC you need....but in any case, I thought that pools with FC above 4 FC were not safe to swim in? So, isn't one required to lower the CYA to keep the FC requirement around the ideal 2.0...

I'm pretty sure all of the air is out of the hose...but I'll try the "submersion" method tomorrow, described above...thanks... I do maintain prime with the skimmer plate down and adapter in place....its when I put either of the hoses on that makes me lose prime.....I doubt both of them are...

Ok, the pump hose is tied up to a ladder, and the return hose is tied up to one of the uprights....all is dry and good in that dept......I've removed the valve, removed the pin to release the handle..cleaned up under it, and it was full of gunk, seriously....the washer looks fine...it has a bit...

You are all great! Well, I went to my pool supplier, all they had was a replacement spring, so I am going to attempt to replace that and clean off all the goo I put on top of the valve (between the raised sections on the outside/top of valve, as Bama Rambler suspects---I didn't open anything up...
