    Rebar spacing bullnose coping

Thanks. Most of the information I could find was for Concrete Pools. It seems like to actually expand if you would have to not join the rebar between pieces.

If I put rebar on 2 foot centers at the expansion joints, am I supposed to cut the rebar?

    Rebar spacing bullnose coping

I ordered a 24 x 44 vinyl inground pool kit with steel walls and 4 foot radius corners. Working on the 6 foot deck. Does anyone have information on how to space and install rebar and expansion joints? What type of expansion joints? Thanks

10 hp pump for a slide on new vinyl liner pool

I don't have a drawing but it would be pool crete at an 11 degree angle below 42 inches of steel wall.

10 hp pump for a slide on new vinyl liner pool

It's a new pool. The drain sump is expensive then i have several deep 10 inch plumbing fittings and a ditch and getting the bottom and side of the deep end hopper back to a condition to apply poolcrete.

10 hp pump for a slide on new vinyl liner pool

I was thinking it would be easier to put it in the steel part of the wall and also would not need the expensive main drain setup. The straight part of the wall on a vinyl pool is not 42 inches but i assume i need to stay away from the bottom. How do i seal a large pvc pipe to the vinyl pool?

10 hp pump for a slide on new vinyl liner pool

The pump is currently in a barn that's 1/2 mile down a mud road so if it dries a little I will look closer at impeller size. That's good info.

10 hp pump for a slide on new vinyl liner pool

"Gravity drainage systems are not discussed here" it says in that article. I believe this is what I am referring to with a Tee on it's back and a full size 16 inch pipe to the atmosphere it will be the same hydraulically as if I had a pit. The diagram in the article is relying on smaller pipes...

10 hp pump for a slide on new vinyl liner pool

i talked to an engineer friend and he suggested putting a 16 inch ( to lower velocity) pvc pipe out the side of the pool with appropriate grating that would then go to a vent above grade about 10 feet out then reduce to the 6 inch that feeds the pump. This would limit the maximum potential...

10 hp pump for a slide on new vinyl liner pool

Good catch on needing the other part of the label. My memory said that was a 15 horse pump so I was kind of annoyed when I found out it was 10 hp. I’m gonna have to tell my wife about this, that I was right after all. I have what I need to make a rotary phase converter so likely I’ll try that...

10 hp pump for a slide on new vinyl liner pool

I don’t remember where I got those numbers I’m going to try to research the details on the pump. The sump is so that the pump can’t create a suction more than just a gravity flow drain. Another way I have read about is just to put a T in the line between the pool and the intake of the pump...

10 hp pump for a slide on new vinyl liner pool

20 x 40 with an 8 foot deep end for diving is what I was planning and then a 5 foot area in the middle, where the slide would come in the side.

10 hp pump for a slide on new vinyl liner pool

The sump would have to be fed at the same rate the pump would take the water out.

Good points. Trying to find the best safe way. It was on. A 24 by 24 pool 4 feet deep as it was installed when I got it.

230 3 phase is the motor. With a phase converter it will make the third leg from single phase.

10 hp pump for a slide on new vinyl liner pool

Thank you everyone for all your replies. I’m an electrician so I know a bit about the pump and making it work. A person can use a rotary phase converter or a VFD or just switch the motor out to single phase. I don’t know the best way to pull this volume of water out of the pool.
