Skimmer Basket Support Ring Came Loose

Finally got pool running for the season and this year the support ring for the skimmer basket came loose. Every time I lift out the basket the ring comes with it, making it a pita. The ring is not broke. Is there a way to secure it back to the skimmer? Thanks!

    Alkalinity up/baking soda..

Walmart here sells 12lb bags of baking soda for under $8.00.. When I told Leslie's that's what I use they freaked, but they also said the chlorine in bleach is not the same as pool chlorine lol.. The Walmart brand 1lb boxes are only around $0.40, so even better.

Sand Filter on AGP sprung leak.

I was looking at the S210T, is there much of a difference with my pool as far as performance? I figure it's twice the sand as the crappy filter I already have. Sux to have to change midseason, just put new sand in in may.

Sand Filter on AGP sprung leak.

My sand filter on my above ground developed a small crack near the top. I tried to seal with JB weld but it did nothing. I currently have a 100lb 19" waterway sand filter, with a 1hp pump. The pump is a fairly new generic that actually works well. I just need the new filter. I have an 18'...

Why so much hate on pool store's water test?

Re: Why so much hate on pool store's water test? I even asked them to be super careful with the CYA test.. The guy just squeezes the bottle for a second then does drops.. They want a high CYA i guess.. Just watching them peddle junk chemicals is amusing.. If they try to sell me PhosFree...

Why so much hate on pool store's water test?

Re: Why so much hate on pool store's water test? So I just went to Leslie's to compare my results to theirs. Today they were close.. But I checked out their test kits and they didn't know what an FAS-DPD chlorine test was. They swore it was only made for alkalinity lol. So my doubts about...

Why so much hate on pool store's water test?

Re: Why so much hate on pool store's water test? Are hairnets really that fine meshed? I never thought of that. I've looked into slime bags but they seem pricey, do hairnets do a similar job? Can they be used on return?

Why so much hate on pool store's water test?

Re: Why so much hate on pool store's water test? I have not bought a new kit. I borrow my neighbors sometimes, but won't use it like I would use mine, but was relying on Leslies for CYA.. Have been out of work for illness for a couple months so the $90 2006C kit is a little pricey. Back to...

Why so much hate on pool store's water test?

Re: Why so much hate on pool store's water test? I ran out of reagents and haven't bought more but I used leslies ever two weeks this year. First their chlorine test is not accurate, they match colors rather than do and FAS-DPD, they have the magnetic spinners baffles me why they don't do it...

    Skimmer Issues on 18ft Round

Removing the eyeball pushed everything to the opposite side of pool.. Today was a bad day to test the eyeball again, nothing floating, nothing in skimmer and nothing on bottom.

    Skimmer Issues on 18ft Round

I did a while ago, but it prevents my automatic cleaner from going from one side to another. The jet coming out is extremely strong. The eyball is 3/4, would 1" be better? I showed a tech at the pool store a pic of my skimmer/return config and he said the return is way to high, he recommended...

    Skimmer Issues on 18ft Round

It's a pretty small eyeball, looks to be 5/8 hole, lines are all 1.5". After looking last night the return is actually higher than the bottom of the skimmer, so I have to fill the water pretty high. - - - Updated - - - Just a return through the skimmer, all 1.5" lines. Like the other poster...

    Skimmer Issues on 18ft Round

We have an 18ft round above ground with a 1hp pump and 100lb sand filter. Most of the time debris on the water surface seems to float more towards the center never reaching skimmer. Our 1 return outlet is is slightly above the bottom of the skimmer about 3f away from skimmer, and points away...
