Cracks in newly poured plaster- gunnite pool

Plaster poured yesterday. Said needed more time so they came back to keep working on it today and today started filling up with water. I’m seeing a ton of hairline cracks all over. They builders say it’s hairline and superficial and “you won’t see them once the pool is filled” (although I doubt...

    Closing pool for good—tips

We own my elderly mother’s home next door to us which has an inground liner pool (about 25K gallons, 9 ft deep end to 3.5 Ft shallow). The liner is shot, needs to be replaced—pool has been leaking there and likely a leak in one of the pipes too. We are finishing construction on a gunnite pool...

Help with Sun Shelf and step dimensions! 4" vs 6" water depth-- steps & bubblers

We are currently digging for our gunnite pool--just started today! I have been going back and forth with PB re: water depth of our sun shelf. They are suggesting 4" water depth. I feel like this is too small. I have settled on liking the idea of 6" water depth. The PB say that the bubblers...

I am assuming the cloudiness is the deep algae, etc., needing to be filtered out by my sand filter. My question—do I maintain the shock level...

I live in Northern KY, suburb of Cincinnati, OH. I am not looking to get year-round swimming, just allow swimming May-Sept, maybe early October. We usually don’t want to swim if less than 70 outside. I am wanting the most cost efficient option that can allow me to achieve the goal of 82-87...

Out of town for 12 days

This is my 2nd year of pool ownership since purchasing my mother's home for her (she lives a couple doors down and it came with a pool), but just discovered TFP last month, and fired my pool-guy and decided to maintain our pool myself. Pretty proud b/c in a couple weeks turned a green...
