I meant to post this 2 wks ago... finally! 38 gallons of 10%, 4 wks of slamming, and untold vacuums. I finally added DE to help the sand out. I kept getting "waves" of dirt every time I vacuumed. That helped ALOT! Thanks for all the great advice. Hope I don't go through that again!

Day 7 of SLAM and I can finally start to see the liner in the shallow end. This was a MESS!

Thanks. The odd thing is I would think if that was algae I would be consuming FC like crazy. I'm averaging 5ppm per day loss which doesn't seem that bad. I'll just keep slamming it. I plan on keeping the vac going until I get light dirt in the filters...

Okay... I've kept my FC at slam level for 2 days now and have been running my tigershark to pickup debris. I'm finally just getting very dirty filters from the shark but no change on water. I know you said if the water turns emerald green. attached are pics. not sure if that's the emerald...

Before I start that process, should I try to vacuum any silt, etc.? I can't see the bottom so not sure how much I'll be able to remove

I replaced my liner, filled the pool with 26000 gal of brand new water, got all my chemicals perfect... literally the NEXT DAY we got 6" of rain that flooded the pool with silt, sand, etc. That was 4 days ago. Running the pump 24/7 (sand filter) and backwashing every morning. I've checked FC...
