    Intex Threaded Strainer Connectors

My pool is a 2009 Intex 18’x48” metal frame that came with the old through-the-wall threaded connector without the grated strainer. Last summer I bought an Intex sand filter/pump combo and it came with the new threaded strainer connectors with the grate pictured below. This year when I hooked...

    Drain or Shock mini swamp?

I really can't decide whether to drain or shock. Intex round 18' x 48" pool. Pool in kept up year round and winterized like a regular above ground pool. Last year water was as clean as could be at opening. This year when I pulled the cover off it was already green. It is about half full and...

    Intex Auto Pool Cleaner

Does anyone have the Intex Auto Pool Cleaner? If so, are the hoses 1.25" or 1.5"? The reason I ask is that this adapter http://intexstore.com/ProductDetails.aspx?from=search&ProductID=263 looks like may be fairly easy to connect to pvc for inside the pool mods.

Green light not working on Intex SWCG

The green light has stopped working on my Intex SWCG. It is a 2008 or earlier model. It appears to still be working correctly since it is still creating bubbles and code 93 is displayed at the end of the cycle. Is there any way to test it other than just monitoring the chlorine level?

    Septic Question

Since there are quite a few science minded posters on here, I thought it might be worth a shot to ask about my septic leach field problem. I have a 900 gallon septic tank with 330' of field lines that snake out from the tank. It travels 90' south, then crosses over and travels 90' north...

    Winter Cover - What Size?

After deciding to risk leaving my 18' Intex metal frame up all winter, I need some help. What size winter cover should I get? I wasn't sure if I should get an 18' cover or if I will need a bigger one since the water level is so low. Also, how many and what size pillows should I get? Thanks!!!

    Patching Asphalt Driveway

I'm repairing some problem spots in my asphalt driveway before I seal it. This is my first time to do this. I thought I would ask here before looking for an on topic forum somewhere else. I have two long medium to large cracks averaging maybe 1/2" and 3/4". The smaller one is where the...

    PVC to Intex Couplings/Adapters

When I vacuum my pool, I slip the flexible cuff of a 1-1/4" vacuum hose into this Intex adapter: That is the adapter that came with the deluxe skimmer. The problem is that I have a hard time disconnecting the skimmer hose without collapsing it. I would like to design something that will...

Intex SWG on clearance at Target YMMV

I'm reluctant to post this since Target clearance varies between regions and sometimes even store to store in the same city, but this weekend I was at the Target store in Madison, TN (Rivergate) and they had the 2010 model Intex SWG on clearance for $118.xx (30% off according to the sign). The...

I have received so much from the forum and I would like the give back a little helpful advice. My wife and I were at a local everything costs a dollar store (Mighty Dollar) a few weeks ago and they had Olympic Oxy-Deck Wood Brightener. We bought a bunch of it since our deck was in terrible...

How do you vacuum to waste with an Intex pump?

18'x48" Intex metal frame pool with 1500 gph pump. After a heavy rain, I need to drain about an inch from my pool. The pool also needs vacuuming, so I thought it would be a good idea to vacuum to waste to address both issues. How would I do that with an Intex pump? Will any of these ideas...

Need help with "MacGyver" pool vac.

I have ordered an Intex Deluxe Maintenace Kit from Amazon to get the skimmer and vacuum for my 18'x48" Intex pool. This is by far the best price I have found, but they are out of stock and I am stuck waiting for them to come back in stock or pay more somewhere else. In the mean time I could...
