ORP accuracy/reliability, worth investing or not?

Actually, I switched it off after 3 seasons fighting with it... At the top of summer you need more than 20CYA, otherwise the sun will burn more chlorine tegen the swcg can make. I trust my Siemens automation more now. Are you Dutch speaking ? Send me a private message.

Astral Victoria Plus - Variable Speed

It can, it is called a VFD (Variable Frequenecy Drive), in practice however it is not so easy to choose the correct VFD for your pump. Call the people at VFD, Inverters, AC Drives | VFDs.com for assistence or contact your local electrician. In theory you can turn any pump into a variable speed...

single phase motor in a home with 3 phase.

I have 3 phase power and run my pool pump on it. The fact that you have 3 phase in house does not mean it is extended towards your pool equipment. Typically it is only used in ovens or other electrical heating or motor equipment. The rest of your outlets provides regular power : 1 phase +...

Help plan a new pool please

Isn't this whole troublefreepool forum's raison d'être to challenge the conventional wisdom in swimming pools ? Why would you limit this to only pool maintenance ? Anway, don't take my word for it (although I actually build one without a PB but with a GC), contact a sales rep at Cemex to ask...

Help plan a new pool please

No rebar needed when (newer style) fiber-reinforced concrete is used. The thickness + additives provides the waterproofing. Ask your local CEMEX ready mix center for details. No (technical) need anymore for additional plaster and/or liner layers (except for decorative reasons). This is the...

Help plan a new pool please

absolutly, in fact, if you use the right thickness + mixture of concrete + addatives (chlorine resistors) + polishing finish, you can even do away with a liner, the concrete itself is waterproof. Why not pour your walls also ? (I did)

Thoughts on Hayward AquaRite Low Salt SWG

I have one of these Low Salt systems (see signature) installed since 1year now. As I live in Europe (Belgium) it is promoted here but not mandatory. When purchasing I got a little scared of the typical salt rumours floating around "It'll destroy your deck and your heater and ..." The sales rep...

    Hello from Belgium

Been lurking for a while, already put some things in practice, just signed up now. Renovated our house 2years ago and put a swimming pool in the back yard. It is a poured concrete pool with no plastering or liner or anything (yet), the concrete was made with waterproofing and chlorine resisting...
