Jandy Deck Jets -- distance to water edge

I have 4 deck jets and each has it's own ball valve so we can adjust the pressure. So they can shoot from 1 foot to probably ~30 feet. Kids love them in and out of the water.

Post Night Time Pictures of your Pool

Thanks Brent! We love it too. I'll be posting some updated pics as soon as we get some good weather as the landscaping is all done now. Yes, that is our town you see in the distance and if you squint really hard you might see downtown Sacramento on the horizon.

    Glass Tile chipping and cracking

Took a look around the base last night and there are only 2-3 cracked tiles. The white stuff occurs pretty consistently but slowly. It shows up about 4-5 days after I clean it.

    Glass Tile chipping and cracking

So based on what I read on Oceanside's website, a waterproof membrane of some sort should be placed between the shell and tile and as Just-a PB mentioned some sort of expansion joint is needed between the glass and deck. Just-a-PB, am I missing anything else obvious in terms of what needs to be...

    Glass Tile chipping and cracking

Haha, no I seriously misread what he was asking.... I did get a few scratches on the glass tiles in the plaster on the steps but they were pretty minor and so I'm ok with them. Wish more was done to protect them as Just-a-PB pointed out. What I don't like is glass cracking and falling into the...

    Glass Tile chipping and cracking

Tile guy removed the tile around the crack pictured above and found no cracks in the underlying shell. He replaced the tiles but there still is no root cause as to what is causing the cracking. Every cracked tile I've seen has a white residue that has leached out from the shell or concrete and...

Tool to loosen unions on IC40

I'm getting a low salt reading on my IC40 of 2600 ppm even though I measured 3400 ppm with Aquacheck test strips. Before I try to recalibrate I want to inspect the IC40 but don't possess the super-human strength necessary to remove the unions. Is there a tool to help with this?

    EasyTouch questions.

"it always runs at the highest speed of anything that is currently on"... this is the piece I was missing, thanks Jason! I did not have high speed schedule overlapping with the pool schedule but now that I know this little tidbit I made that change and it's running as I expect.

    EasyTouch questions.

There's not much skimmer action when I run in Pool mode. VS runs at 1750 RPM in pool mode. I'd like to be able to run in High Speed mode for an hour or so a day to get better skimmer action. I'm not really sure if losing that hour of the IC40 generating chlorine is critical or not. I run the...

    EasyTouch questions.

Thanks for the replies. The valves make sense to me now. I saw the diagram inside the EasyTouch panel as well which also helped. RPM & WATTS did show up after a bit of waiting on the wireless controller. Thanks for the tip. Anybody know how to allow the IC40 to run in a mode other than POOL...

    EasyTouch questions.

In the EasyTouch 8 system, I can see the RPM and Watts under Settings->IntelliFlo->Pump #1->Status. When I go to the same menu on the Wireless 8 Controller, both the Watts and RPM are always 0. Any way to fix this? Also, can somebody Explain how the "Settings->Valves" work? I have 3 Jandy...

    Northern California Build

We've started on the landscaping so I thought I'd post a few pictures of the before and some progress pictures. My wife and I installed the sprinkler system and lawn last October which you can see below. We hired a landscaper to do the rest of the yard. They started about 3 weeks ago but...

    Glass Tile chipping and cracking

Really appreciate all the input you guys are giving me. PB had a look today and is going to have his tile guy come out and remove the tiles around the crack to see what he finds. I know these glass tiles can't be cut so only other choice would be to see if we can get square tiles of same...

    Glass Tile chipping and cracking

I don't see any other evidence of movement. Waterline tile in the spa is fine, plaster is fine, coping is fine. We'll see what the PB says. If it is settling, what are the options? I imagine with other materials along the outside of the spa like stone or regular tiles, you wouldn't see this...

The crack in the picture is the worst spot but there are 2 others. The rest of the glass and coping is fine so I don't think spa is settling.

    Glass Tile chipping and cracking

Thanks for responding Jason and Scott. I'm going to talk to my PB and also the glass company to see what, if anything, can be done. Only 2 options in my mind are to replace glass tile that is directly over pool with waterline tile or to replace all glass tile with waterline tile. I'm not...

Exactly. I don't understand why the tiling is cracking but whatever is running down the side of the spa is white and the tile is cracking along that line.

    Glass Tile chipping and cracking

My build was finished last summer and we had Oceanside glass tile installed around the outside of our spillover spa. We knew there would be some maintenance issues with this tile in terms of removing calcium build-up so we were expecting that. What we weren't expecting is tiles to be cracking...

    Review: A & A in-floor cleaning system

My PV3 system is plumbed separately from the skimmer/pump/filter/return circuit. It runs on it's own 3/4 pump. It has worked well except for one dead spot in the deep end that's easy to brush toward the drain when the in-floor system is running. I have a leaf catcher for the in-floor that...

They acid washed before they polished and also did a light acid wash afterward. Brushing does stir some of it up but my hand seems to stir up more than brushing. I tried to turn off the IC40 through the easytouch but all the lights stayed green on the IC40 so I just turned the pump off overnight. FC was 11.0 in the evening and 11.0 this morning. We were gone all day today so the pool wasn't brushed at all. When we got home, the water was crystal...
