I bought a regular test kit at Lowes- should I get a special one?

It is supposed to stop after 2 minutes- ours will not stop flashing- tests show chlorine and free chlorine high and the cell light is off. Why is it continuously flashing- we have a salt pool and I am unfamiliar with this system. Can someone direct me in the right direction to get this fixed and...
