Someone just texted me and said that the shaft in the pump may be loose and eventually the bearings will end up getting it.

No pressure valve installed on filter. No bubbles out of return.

Ya it's pumping water and pressure coming out of the jet in the pool is strong.

It's working full time. The pump basket stays at 3/4 full. No difference in noise.

Did that test and is sucks the water in right away and fast.

Tried that a few times. Water stays high in pump basket. Noise continues...

The water level is a mid point at the skimmer. I also tried switching between the skimmer and bottom drain with the three way valve and it does not change anything. The pump is only four years old and lots of pressure going out in the pool. Maybe it's pulling in air somewhere ?
