    Intex 18'x52" supports leaning

Noticed the lean on the poles. High side is about 4" from level, leaning into pool. Low side is 4" leaning away. Low side legs have sunk about 2" compared to rest of legs. Added a pic of low side leg. Do I have to worry? Drain and add pavers( like wife said prior)?

So i bought a Walmart test kit until i can get the tf-100. I also picked up some 10% liquid bleach on sale for 2.50 per. It doesn't give me FC/TC, just chlorine/bromine level? I measured my pool today and here are the numbers. CL= .5-1 pH=7.5 CH=240 CYA=30 TA=33 I know I need to add the...

Contacted a friend with electrician connections. Waiting on a reply. In the mean time, I just got brand new grids for my DE filter for free. Good people looking out all around.

    New pump/motor, need help wiring.

Thanks for all the info. I believe the exact situation JBlizzle described happened. I agree I need to get an electrician out to look at the current set up. I plan to move the pump and filter this winter out of the middle of the yard, so I may be able to set up a new box then. (I know, I just...

    New pump/motor, need help wiring.

Got it running, for now. I will buy a 220v breaker and replace as CJADAMEC suggested. I think I'll need to run new wires for the booster, that is the only difference from when the pump overheated. It has been running solo for about 6 hrs so far.

    New pump/motor, need help wiring.

I got new pictures of the wiring and bought a volt meter. here goes: This is the timer box. Both black wires tested 120. The white and the yellow wires go into an outlet on the side of the box that is non-functional, then it appears they go back underground to I don't know where. These are...

    New pump/motor, need help wiring.

OK, I bought a new to me pump. upgraded the old 3/4hp to 1.5hp self priming max-e-pro xf. The motor label said 230V, and old motor had 2 Black and a green so I figured update the wires and I'm golden. Well, the pump ran fantastic. I was impressed with the power of the pump on the return lines...

Found my air leak. Now I need to know, fix or replace the pump

Thanks. Fresh wires and connectors just make more sense to me with a newer motor. Old wires were cracking they were so old. Hoping to have to pump running tonight after pvp glue has time to set.

Found my air leak. Now I need to know, fix or replace the pump

One more question and I think I'll be done. When hooking up the electric, does it matter which black wire goes on L1 and L2? I'm not much of a 220 guy.

Found my air leak. Now I need to know, fix or replace the pump

Good morning all. In preparation for my new seals and gaskets arriving today, I pulled the pump to the garage to get it cleaned and prepped. While attempting to remove the impeller, I broke something off. Not sure what it is exactly, but hoping I can fix it with your help. Inside...

Found my air leak. Now I need to know, fix or replace the pump

Thank you Mike for that link. Mine appears to be either the starite dura-glas or max-e-glas. I ordered new shaft seal and gaskets for it. They should arrive Monday. I'll take it apart then and hope nothing else is wrong with it. I will be replacing the motor and relocating the plumbing this...

Found my air leak. Now I need to know, fix or replace the pump

The only thing I could make out from that was the patent number, which gave me Sta Rite Industries. If it is original to the pool, then it is from 1989. Here is another angle of it:

Found my air leak. Now I need to know, fix or replace the pump

Finally get the pool cleaned, filled and turn on the pump. I notice that I have air coming through the returns. I found the leak after I turned off the motor. Best i can tell it is leaking from where the filter basket is attached to the rest of the pump. Is there a seal inside here that...

This is the current "valve" that is installed. After adding the DE, I did notice that it returned via the jets. And I have not added the CYA yet, but i do have a bag ready to add.

Lost and almost overwhelmed with pool revival

Thanks again. I have the pump running, seems to be working okay. DE was added as in the tutorial. Water seems to be flowing through the plumbing well, minus 1 return. Seems to be air coming out of it, but not the other 2. Hope its just some air in the line... with my luck on this thing so far...

Thanks! I'll add the DE now. They'll hold, only a few with holes. but should be enough to get me through til the new ones are bought. Just primed the filter(thats a lot of buckets of water). I started at 0 chlorine and added 2 bags of shock from leslies before I found this page yesterday and...

Lost and almost overwhelmed with pool revival

So, I have cleaned the pool, and filled it up. The water just reached skimmer level, just a few more inches!! I have read through pool school and done a few of the suggestions. Pics and 1st "leslie's" test results in my intro thread. I just bought some DE for my freshly cleaned out FNS Plus 60...

Idriv442 - 1st time pool owner with troublesome pool

Yes, very beat up indeed. I plan on upgrading a new intelliflo or similar pump. I've been told for that size of pool I need at least 3hp. But I'm here to get non pool place advice. It works, as in comes on and moves water, but it's lacking. I found the sweep under a brush pile. I had them test...

Idriv442 - 1st time pool owner with troublesome pool

First off, Hello to everyone. I bought and closed on my new home last November. After months trying to get the inside of the house livable and presentable, I moved to the poorly treated in-ground pool. I made contact with several companies and had 2 actually come out and check the pool. 1st guy...
