    New Pump

No surge protection - expensive lesson! Lost the Electronic control panel which costs about $700 - so pretty much an expansive paperweight at this point.

    New Pump

Lost my pump to lightning so looking for advice on new purchase. Old pump was 3 HP Pentair Intelliflo VS. From what i have read and understand this pump was probably overkill for my system limited by 1.5" plumbing and my existing filter. Only really used about 2 speeds on the pump anyway. My gut...

I plan to do that this weekend. It was just changed within the year by a "professional" but I was out of town and my wife was dealing with it so...

No. Foam seems to be gone. Still SLAMing. Aqua color. Very cloudy (can see 12-18 inches down). May add DE tomorrow and attempt to open filter for deep clean this weekend (doesn't have unions so...). FC: 23 CC: .5 pH: 7.6 CH: 125 TA: 130 CYA:37 crich84crich84's Library | Photobucket

    Aqua milk

Before I found you guys the pool store told me to shock with two packages of powdered "shock". Wish I still had the packaging. Not sure what was in it. That was at least a week ago.

Don't know what "splashless" bleach is. Been using liquid chlorine. Foaming has disappeared since this am. Seems to do it in the morning then clear. FC was at 23 this am. Slight drop at noon (.5). Thanks for all the feedback! I want to believe I am making progress but just doesn't look like it...

    Aqua milk

Thought I was following PoolMath but obviously being a newbie I made a mistake somewhere but I'm not sure where. I'm not seeing a visible improvement (seems like it has been about the same for 3 days or so) but that may be due the variety of cloudy and sunny days. I don't have an autovac and I...

    Aqua milk

I did not lower the pH as I started before I received my Test Kit (new to Forum and was listening to pool store). Just tested: FC: 31 CC:1.5 pH: 7.8 CYA: 37 CH: 150 TA: 150 Salt:4000 PPM Pump running continuously. Brushing. Tested FC before bed last night(33 FC).

    Aqua milk

I have been slamming my pool for 4+ days but it never gets past a milky aqua color. I can only see about 12 inches down. Doesn't seem to be any debris. Of course in FL I'm getting pretty good rains to complicate the issue. The vinyl walls feel like sandpaper with what I assume is calcium...

    Hello from Pensacola, FL

New to forum and pool maintenance. Stumbled across your site and have been reading for a week or so. My pool was a dark green mess. Quickly realized that I needed a test kit and ordered as I have always used pool store. Recent trips out of town led to my current mess ("knowledgeable" friend was...
