    I agree with the Hayward comment. Their tech support person could not tell me how good their filtration was. He pointed me to the in line manual which does not list any specifications on this.

    Robot recommendations for $500-$600

    I would jump on the robot. The Polaris requires a pump to run, normally at full speed to operate it. And the Polaris only picks up big stuff. A good robotic cleaner will pick up items as small as 2 microns and it operates on 24V for most models. The electrical cost is very small by comparison...
