    WaveHeater- anybody have this?

It's working quite well in my opinion: 1. check temp of Pool on my Bluetooth sensor 2. estimate how many hours I need the Heater to run 3. head to the garage, turn on pump, walk around to the panel and hit the breaker for the Heater. 4. set kitchen timer/phone timer to remind me of the duration...

    WaveHeater- anybody have this?

I don't think it's limited to Intex. Contact David via his website. He was super helpful and we worked through the details of my strange situation. I bet he can help analyze your needs.

    WaveHeater- anybody have this?

If you are running the heater and the pump stops for ANY reason, the heater's flow switch is triggered, and my GFCI 30A 220V breaker trips to the middle position. The transformer gives the Flow switch a little help in ensuring the GFCI gets a differential to protect the Heater, the people, and...

    WaveHeater- anybody have this?

got to juice it up last night. Passed all my GFI testing, flow action, etc. 8:10pm temp was 72.5F from my Bluetooth sensor at the opposite corner from my outlet 10:10pm temp was 73.9F same location Given the decimal reading might still have a little error, and I purposely put the temp sensor...

    WaveHeater- anybody have this?

after an hour on the phone with the manufacturer (Dave, has been really great in helping me figure out my strange install situation!) going through wiring step by step, I had to reroute some hoses. Particular issues with the unit: 1. 30amp GFCI breaker required at 220V 2. he sends you a little...

    WaveHeater- anybody have this?

thanks. I have a small space between the side of my Pool and the garage wall, and the pump/Sand filter combo barely fits, then I have the watertight conduit coming to the WaveHeater on the pool inlet side. Now I find out I need it on the pool outlet side. If I reverse hoses and twist the top...

    WaveHeater- anybody have this?

I always understood that the "higher" port is for the pump flow out, and the "lower" port is for the strainer/skimmer in. What if I reverse the purpose of those two ports? This pool is in my garage, so no leaves, only the occasional vacuum for settled remnants. I posed that question to the...

    WaveHeater- anybody have this?

thx, I know the math for heating: but inside my garage it already averages 72-74F in the summer, and 64-67F in the winter. I have found no other way to add heat so I can get year-round control. I figure a couple times a week, I can pop it on for 6-8hours while at work, then have a 78-80F temp...

    WaveHeater- anybody have this?

it showed up today...a little bigger than I imagined from the YT vids. So, he recently made a change that the WaveHeater should go BEFORE the Sand Filter instead of After it. Is there any real reason I can't just reorient my hoses to use opposite ports from A to B? I am currently using the...

    WaveHeater- anybody have this?

I am about to...it is left standing as the only real option for my in-garage pool...I should have a report in a couple weeks - order, arrival, install, testing, etc.

still researching a way to heat my in-garage pool...and I find this exists: Amazon.com : The 2016 WaveHeater for above ground pools : Patio, Lawn Garden I did a search here and didn't see any relevant threads. Anybody own it/love it/hate it?

Bestway (Intex?) AGP in garage, full year solution for heat wanted.

been a while but worth an update: Garage steady about 75F, and so pool is steady about 67-68F since the season here means fewer heat cycles from Furnace. I am going to reroute the power soon, but my "WetRoom" design is nearing completion: So the PVC piping will be a framework for lashing...

temperatures continue to climb slowly: just about 64-65F this morning and I installed a mesh network thermostat with a remote sensor (Ecobee 3) that will help me balance the heater vent>>pool temp cycle over time.

I have finished measurements and setup of the first half of my "wet room" that will surround the pool and keep splashing and sloshing contained even when the kids get rowdy. I will order a custom printed 4ft high tarp-banner and put the print on the inside. That will be held in place through...

Bestway (Intex?) AGP in garage, full year solution for heat wanted.

My temps are slowly climbing. My vent keeps the garage at or about 65-67F and the pool continues to come up from 57F, then 59F, now about 61F. I also set up the Intex LED light: Nifty thing that uses magnets and induction power to allow it to grip the soft wall of the pool without any power...

My garage is already GFCI'd on the 120v. The pump itself has a GFCI on top of that. I'm not blind to the issues and respect input on them. He didn't actually itemize the most central issues but my guess is that his mention of the install location distance from the pool being less than 20'...

I hunted around and found some more documentation on the guts of the two different types of units. Yes, it comes down to duty-cycle/endurance differences in the product design. I didn't want pay double the cost of an endless hot water system when the main visible difference is the fitting...

Thanks for pointing me to those threads...I read a bunch of them...and the most successful one talks about how he insulated his pool on all sides. Power here in Oregon is $.12 or so. The tankless thing claims 99.8% efficient but regardless it's a lot more efficient than my current gas hot water heater. I figure (maybe incorrectly) that no matter which model I buy it will take the same BTUs to heat right? Speeding up the heating process...

I wanted to try and make at least ONE buy of equipment from my local pool shop, but quoting $900 for a 5.5K and $1000 for an 11K heater is just too far away from what I can order and do the same amount of work myself! They can't do the electrical, and they really have no special expertise...

all good ideas, but while my furnace is 15+ years old it currently has no problems, no dead motor, no failing burner, etc. I suppose IF my furnace fails I will consider adding some feature that can help in this. Your tub DOES look like a smaller version: my gazebo might even have custom...

Thanks for reading! I have been reading up on diverter/heater/homebrew ideas, and even considered building a solar trap for the window. As you can see, it's already pretty tight: having another pump, another cord, another set of pipes, etc. is to be avoided. I have some home automation gear...
