High PH after adding acid, 0 CYA....

Hello guys. Levels are: (taylor kit) TC 1.5 PH 8.1 TA 150ppm Calcium 240ppm CYA 0 I put 1 gal of muratic in it about 2 weeks ago and NADA!! The ph is still freaking high. The pool is new as of November 2009 and is Pebble sheen. Not sure if this is causing the ph to rage!! I just took...

Thanks for the compliments Jenny!! The flagstone is Oklahoma Whister (think that's how you spell it), and we actually picked out 2 pallets for them to use. Then they flagged it and brought it out. I like the black color mixed into the tan too! The tile is from Master Tile...

Paid the last check, now how do I get the list done???

    1. It's happening now. I poured a new pad and we'll plumb tomorrow. Benefit is that we'll have less 90's and thus less stress on the pump. He told me that we'd have to put a screw in the window for any inspector. I guess I was warned. 2. You were correct, the electrician is a whiz on the...

    New Pool Starting, Montgomery Texas

I actually have to back down off the company and builder. He's really getting the stuff done and I have to say he did what he said he'd do. And, he did give us a heck of a deal!! I really think he gets screwed by the subs but you have to be the manager. The weather didn't help either... I'd...

    New Pool Starting, Montgomery Texas

I used Backyard Visions, and unless this week goes well then I won't be recommending them/ him. SO far, we've gotten a good deal. I'm at my wits end with the punch list, and finding out that the heater is stinking up our bedroom office because it's 12 inches from our window (the vent part is!!).

Paid the last check, now how do I get the list done???

I should have known better. I paid my last small draw but yet I have the following list, and one is a biggie. I build homes for a living, you think I would have been hip to the game and not made the biggest mistake. 1. The heater for the spa is 1 foot from a window in my bedroom. According to...

    New Pool Starting, Montgomery Texas

Here are some more photos. We have a few things to do but it's almost done. I'm waiting on landscaping so I don't have to cover everything for a freeze. Waiting on the gas company to pump up the gas volume so we can heat the spa. These are cell phone pics but they're decent...

    New Pool Starting, Montgomery Texas

Lots of local people here!! It's a wee bit cold to swim now. Heck, even calling for snow in HOUSTON. Global warming for sure. I've got to get the new photos up. We're 99% done. Just missing the fill line and overflow drain connections. I told them to hook up those like 5 times before they...

    New Pool Starting, Montgomery Texas

Thanks for the compliments guys and gals. I've got the water filled and it's probably been sitting for 5-6 days now without circluation. Isn't that a no-no??? I'm about to kill the builder!! He's supposed to get the electrical tomorrow I think. So it should be mostly running by tomorrow...

My questions is, do they need to stop the small amount of leeching that is occuring from the pool light before pebble sheen goes in?

    New Pool Starting, Montgomery Texas

We hired someone and paid them $5000 to build it (over cost). I am a home builder so I could have probably done it and I'm kind of kicking myself for not doing it but there's always next time. I think our porch is about 54 feet from one wall to the other end. If that gives you any idea. The...

Newbie Concrete L Shaped pool build.

Nice!! I like the kitchen deal. We're planning on doing one too. No tile roof like that but similar size. Any idea what that cost you (just the structure, not the appliances etc...)

Got a 5 day window and we have coping and waterfalls. Had to order the tile from Las Vegas so another 4 days for that.... Hope for no rain here (for me).... mini waterfalls above

    New Pool Starting, Montgomery Texas

Tooooooo much rain!!! We've just gotten the plumbing pipes in and covered them up and then it's rained for like 2 weeks. The builder had trouble getting rock and that slowed us down another few days. I was hoping to see some flagstone today but it's flooding rains again.... Yay. I'm hoping we...

    New Pool Starting, Montgomery Texas

So, it's been a week or so and all I have is some trenches for plumbing. Actually the plumber is coming tomorrow. Should have wiring and plumbing by the end of the week and stone coming possibly on the weekend. Hopefully it will start coming together soon.

    New Pool Starting, Montgomery Texas

That was my idea... I originally had a lazy river around the back side of the rocks but then realized that you couldn't see it because of the waterfall. I actually saw something similar on another Houston area pool. I did the drawing of the shape and decided on making the island just 2 inches...

    New Pool Starting, Montgomery Texas

I think you're right. One set is the main pump. One set is for the waterfall. The last set is for the jets on top of the island. They're supposed to be able to shoot 15-20 feet up, per my request. Now, to get them set to the music ala The Bellagio.... J/K.

So far, except for the line between the two drains. I wasn't really that happy with that but I don't think it will be that big of an issue, since it's encapsulated in the gunite. I'm not sure about the longevity of that stuff but I figure it will do good if the ground flexes.

Yeah, the same guy is doing theirs also. I referred him to the neighbor down the cul de sac too. I think I'm in for a delay though. Sounds like he's not doing jack until friday (letting it cure I guess?). I want that dirt pile knocked down and some clean up going. Max depth is around 5.5 or...

    New Pool Starting, Montgomery Texas

Gunite is in. It's sooo hot and I'm watering every 2 hours to keep it soaked down (dries up as soon as I go to the other end). 1. Is it supposed to be so gritty? 2. Did they just use my house water to spray that crud? Water bill will be jacked this month (and next)...

We've got steel and plumbing. Hopefully gunite tomorrow morning. We're checking for availability. These things move fast... And, I need to update the sig. The overall length is 54' now. Have some pictures later tonight. Camera is over at the house.

    New Pool on the way.

Permit? Whats a permit? LOL. I barely remembered to notify the POA that I was doing my pool. Freaking pool builder lives in my neighborhood and he forgot too. Shows you how "cowboy" we are around here.
