    Water height for skimmer

When using a skimmer such as the Haywood wall mount version, what is the intended height of water for it to have proper operation? 1" above bottom of opening, 2" 3" ??? I would like to put one on my 16' Ultra, but don't really want to lose water height.

    Intake strainer on Intex Ultra

Anyone ever cut the center out of the strainer to increase flow? Would this actually help?

    Stabilizer

I am using a granular stabilizer this year for the first time, and from what I been reading around here it is supposed to go into the skimmer. Of course put it into a sock first, and then the skimmer basket. My questions is: Since going into the skimmer, it goes into the sand filter. Will that...

    Roots

This was the last winter I decided to take down out Intex Ultra frame, going to leave it up from now on for the winters. So I decided to pull back the foam sheets, and gorilla pad to see how things are under there after redoing it last year. I pulled some big roots out last year when I had...

So sad, pool came down today

Weather getting too cold to swim, so pool came down. :( Drained it, cleaned the inside and dried it with towels. The disassembled it, roll it all up and packed away for the winter in my heated shop (so liner never freezes) Pump stays in heated shop too, everything else goes into cold storage...

    New deck walkway extension

Finally got around to building that new walkway extending the deck to the pool. Now no one has to walk across the grass to get into the pool, and that mean no more more grass in the pool either.:D

Solar cover breaking down, plugs filter.

Over the last week, could not figure out where these "flakes" were coming from, thought it was from one of the trees. They kept getting sucked into the filter, past the skimmer basket, and plugging the sand filter. Lo and behold, it was my old clear solar cover starting to disintegrate and the...

Ideas wanted for landscaping around Intex Ultra.

Just put my pool back up, but I made a mess of the surrounding area in doing so. The old one was more or less in a large sand box, as I had a 20' box I built around it and just put sand it for looks, etc. I am looking for ideas on what to place around the border of the pool instead of waiting...

    Pool is back up

Finally had decent enough weather to re-level, install stone blocks, Gorilla pad, and foam under the pool. So far, its level, hope it stays that way. I had to put 1 1/2" shim under 1 post, not sure what happened there, but it's all good. Now just filling, then guess I will be trimming all the...

    Support pads

Anyone worry about the support pads rubbing through their liner? I see lots of photo's on the site that show the support pad visible and above the ground level. Some are flush to the ground, but there are lots that are not. Anyone have their foam compress with the pool weight? I am putting...

Re-doing base on Ultra Frame 16', looking for info.

I took my Ultra frame down for the winter, and am now re-doing the base. Worked fine for the last 3 years, but I decided to do the base the right way. So I removed all the sand, and once again leveled the ground, and am putting pavers under the support legs this time, along with foam sheets, and...

    Tunnels

When I took my pool down for the season, I found a squirrel had dug a tunnel under the pool (and pad) and was stashing winter supplies. What does everyone else do to prevent this?

Taking down the pool for the season...........

Today is the day, taking down the pool and packing away until the spring........:( Getting cold now at night to keep it at a decent temp, pool has been down to 60 all week, and no more warm weather in sight. Too bad, but we had a great summer, short but used it lots. Next year before setup...

    Electric heater for Intex

Think I posted this in the wrong forum originally, so reposting here. Anyone have experience in electric heaters for a Intex pool? The ones I looked at state specifically NOT to use with a soft side pool such as an Intex, why would that be? http://www.poolsuppliescanada.ca/k-s...-40-000-l.html
