    which do I do first

My test results are: FC 1 or zero pH high 8.2 + TA 130 CYA nothing - the solution did not cloud the dot I use liquid bleach only and lately it's been evaporating (for obviours reasons). I have used nothing but liquid bleach since I last drained and filled the pool. I wonder why the TA is...

    adding chlorine off season

After September my pool is only used when I heat it for a few days a couple of times during the winer. My question is, do I need to keep the chlorine levels the same during these prolonged periods of not using the pool.

    Water Levels

I had the pool skimmer replaced last fall and haven’t run the Kreepy Krauly since. I’m trying to balance the spa water level when I run the KK. Within 30 min the level is low and the pump is cavitating. Do I decrease the spa skimmer?

    Non-metal stains

My pool was Ike'd and the stains from debris have lightened by about 50% in a year's time. Is there anything I can do to speed this up?

    High Borates

I added borates to my pool according to the directions about three weeks ago, but the borate strip reading is greater than 50. How do I calculate the amount of water I need to replace? TC 7 pH 7.3 T/A 70 CH 200 CYA 65-70

    Am I doing this correctly?

After years of puck abuse I'm trying to convert to the BBB method. I'm happy with the results so far, but I want to be able to complete adding the borates before I'm satisfied. In the spring when i first began this change my readings were FC 14 CC 0 pH7.8 T/A 160, CH 35-40 CYA 90 temp 69...

    Lower CYA?

I had used Trichlor for many, many years. I discovered the BBB method in March. The CYA had been running around 90. The pH had been stable since I began testing with the TF 100 kit. Chlorine jumped around. I use the pool very little, have never had a CC reading register. June 8 my readings...

    Which should be done first?

Readings today: FC 3 CC 0 TC 3 ph 7.8 TA 150 CYA 90 I am finally getting around to working with the pool water balance. I know I need to keep the TC 7 - 10. Momentary lapse, I'll do better. Historically I had used Trichlor Tabs, until if discovered the BBB method. Both TA and CYA are...

    Frequency for shocking

I live alone and haven't begun to use the pool yet. I bought a TFT kit and began testing April 7, no major problems. I check the pressure guage on my filter regularly and I vacuum regularly, plus I have a kreepy krauly. So far I with my testing I have not detected any combined chlorine. My...

    MCase with TFTK results

FC = 14, pH 7.8 TA 160, CH 350, CYA 90, CSI 0.42 1. I'm tying to figure out if I need to try to adjust either the TA or the CYA. In the info about elevated TA there is a warning about simply hitting a target level. My pH doesn't seem to move very much and according to the pool...

    MCase

Let me begin by saying my pool was Iked last September. After cleaning and refilling the gunite surface was all mottled and smeary, kind of a tan color. As time has passed the discoloration has improved by over 50%. I'm wondering if I can hasten this process. Recently, the chlorine level is...
