    Water on a mesh cover

Okay thanks. It seems difficult to tighten the winch of this cover anymore to raise it up off the water. I might need to buy some cover clips to place around the top walls of the pool to raise this up off the water then. I find it confusing because the directions of this cover say to rest it...

    Water on a mesh cover

Hi there: We got a new cover this year, one of those that allow water through - mesh cover. The first time it rained the water flowed through in a day, now several inches of water seems to stay on top. Is this right or do we still need to drain off this water? Thanks.

Yup, we have the same size and are averaging about 3 cups daily or closer to 5 if I've left a day in between.

    Stuck Skimmer Basket.

Good luck on that one. This happened to us and we finally managed to pry it off by using leverage of two screwdrivers. Now we are careful not to lock it into place.

Question about Above Ground Pool Entrance Systems

We have the royal entrance steps. Haven't noticed any algae. We needed to flush it all out this winter, because some water stayed in the back side of the steps but it cleaned up fine. We really enjoy these steps very much for easy access and a place to sit at times.

Can you add salt to a pool

We certainly noticed no ill effects from adding the salt. We put in 80 lbs. last year and will be adding some more this year. Love the feel of it, and as Anna says, the sparkle is great!

New Member, New Pool, New Deck

Welcome aboard and very nice setup. It is amazing the pools that show up here - I have a small above ground and tiny deck, no where near as fancy as your set up, but as you say, it does the trick! Enjoy!

    AG Ladder Woes

Went to Target at lunch and barbells are really too big on the ends to be of use. I guess one could also fill up plastic soda bottles and put them in? The other thing we thought about was that all the weight would then be in the bottom and that might be harmful to other parts of the steps as...

    AG Ladder Woes

So, upon reading this thread and seeing Anna K's great weight system it occurs to me that I could make my royal entrance steps much more user friendly. Currently we cannot put the steps in or out ourselves due to the weight of the sand piece that hooks into the back of the steps. BUT...if we...

How long should I run the pump/filter?

so, along those lines, if you run it just 12 hours is there a "best" time? Better to run overnight or during the day?

    AG Ladder Woes

We have the Royal Entrance steps and love them! Yes, it takes up spacein the pool, but you can sit on the steps, and it just makes it so easy to get in or out regardless of age, shape or level of wine or beer consumed......seriously, it makes an AG feel like an IG.

    FIRST TEST OF THE YEAR!

Nice to get that cover off and test! So, I plan to go completely BBB this year and here are the test results after vacuuming and letting things circulate a few hours with about 3/4 of a gallon of 12.5 bleach. FC = 10.5 CC = 0 TA = 80 CYA = 60 PH - 7.4 Is it possible that there is no CC here...

    Outdoor speakers

The other great thing about the Bose Soundock with Ipod we have is we can pack it up in its little suitcase and take it with us wherever we go. We've taken it on vacation and had all our music with us. I believe that the latest version is battery operated as well and so you can dispense with...

    Outdoor speakers

As a longtime audiophile geek type of girl, I am almost embarrassed to say I really like my Bose set up for the Pool....We just set the Sound dock with the Ipod in the window and it gives us great tunes all summer long. Good volume and not bad sound at all. Mind you this is a for a small pool...

CYA testing - before start up?

Hi folks - it's getting close to opening up time again - looking forward to that! Quick question - is it okay to test CYA before opening - before starting up the pump actually. I am thinking I may need to dump half the pool and would like to be able to do that and refill before starting the...

18' Round Strong Pools AGP - Big enough?

Adding Solar Salt - each season??

Hi pool friends: One of the best tips I got last year was to use solar salt to my above ground pool. We added two bags of it and loved the effect. My question is, do you add more each season or does it remain over winter. We are closed up and may end up draining half the pool as CYA was high...

    Who's here this season?
