INEXPERIENCED OB Steel wall vinyl liner inground pool under construction in north texas

I wouldn't worry about reinforcing the unions with anything. Properly cleaned, primed, and glued joints should be plenty strong. The main thing you want to do before you backfill is to pressure test everything so you can be certain that you won't have any underground leaks...

INEXPERIENCED OB Steel wall vinyl liner inground pool under construction in north texas

I'll second the recommendation for the TFPRO-Salt. Mine has had everything I've needed since I opened my pool. For salt, I use Morton Salt Pure and Natural 40 lbs. Solar Water Softener Salt Crystals 3983 - The Home Depot There was a post here a while ago about someone who had issues with...

What did you do to your pool today?

Looking at 2" of rain over the next few days. Nobody warns you that the most frustrating part of being a TFP owner is having to dump perfectly balanced water. I guess that's better than the alternative of being frustrated with green water, but still.

I need help understanding if my CYA is affecting my PH and TA

Is this exclusively for masonry pools? Or do fiberglass and vinyl pools experience this as well?

Vinyl Pool Liner Replacement - Seam/Edge Tape Options

I have used Anti Chafe Tape in a past life. We used it to stop punctures in shrink-wrap on the pointy parts of boats. It's pricey for the little bit you'd need, but maybe you can find less somewhere else.

    Green Pool- just discovered TFP

You might be over-estimating your pools volume a bit if you overshot your FC number last night, so maybe you added a bit more chlorine than you thought you needed. But regardless of that you're correct that you continue the process. I'll echo @PoolStored that you're done the SLAM process when...

Vinyl over stairs & liner installation help

I think you're going to want something underneath of the steps to support them from flexing. I'm assuming they are fiberglass steps? Is this what you have? In the photo of the steps you posted it looks like there are instructions taped to the top of it. Could you post a photo of those on here?

    Green Pool- just discovered TFP

https://www.troublefreepool.com/blog/what-are-my-ideal-pool-levels/ edit: With a pH of 7.6 you are right where you want to be and do not need to make any changes to pH.

New DYI Pool Install - Backfill Question

I second tl everyone else's suggestion to use rigid PVC if you can. As far as your plan for backfilling I think it sounds good to me. Good decision on using gravel and stone and not trying to back fill with dirt.

I knew I was Pool Stored when...

Maybe it's the costume. You should dress up before you go to the pool store and let us know how that works out for you :ROFLMAO:

    Losing Hope...

You'll want to leave the CYA at 30 until after your SLAM. Much easier (and cheaper) to maintain SLAM level at a CYA of 30 than it would be higher.

What did you do to your pool today?

Fellow hater of the dot test here. I do my best, but I'm never all that confident in it.

    Losing Hope...

I'm in agreement, a good old SLAM will have you on your way. Don't lose hope, we've got you. https://www.troublefreepool.com/blog/2019/01/18/free-chlorine-and-cyanuric-acid-relationship-explained/ Continue to test your FC level regularly and keep it above 12. Run your pump 24/7 so that you...

New pool owner help me please lol

I'd recommend downloading the Pool Math app on your smartphone. It'll have you input information about your pool (like roughly how many gallons of water it is) and then you can add your test results in there. Based on those results, the app will tell you how much of each chemical needs to be...

    Freska limestone decking and coping

Oh I had to zoom in a bit to see the black/gray spots that I think you're referring to. It's pretty hard to tell what could be causing it from a photo. I don't think the conditions for mold are likely there, so my bet is on dirt getting into some of the holes in the limestone.

    Freska limestone decking and coping

It looks like it's etched, did anyone accidentally spills muriatic acid on it? I'm not very familiar with limestone decking, but that's just my hunch. Hopefully someone with more experience in the area will be by to give you advice on fixing it.

What did you do to your pool today?

Been busy remodeling our screened in porch, got the new decking down this past weekend. Late last night I was rushing to get the pool tested and in order. FC was high, pH was high, CYA was low. Dropped the SWG from 20% to 10% Added the recommended MA Added the recommended CYA Now I'm sitting...

What did you do to your pool today?

I'd also like more evidence of this mythical surface cleaner. After getting caught in a rainstorm when we put our polymeric sand down last fall, there's a white haze and some sand stuck to the surface of our pavers. Holding the wand close to the pavers is enough to clean them, but the thought of...

INEXPERIENCED OB Steel wall vinyl liner inground pool under construction in north texas

Just getting in to see this and I am super impressed. It looks like you're well on your way to having a great pool. I'm late to the party, but in my signature I have a build thread linked where I installed the same type of pool as you last summer, using the same process (although we didn't have...

Fixed liner off track- but a question

I wouldn't expect the liner to shift laterally that significantly when you fill it with water. You might just have to work it back and forth a little, pulling in one direction and then the other to try and get all of the liner lip into the track. Do you have any photos of what you're working with?

    Pressure test poly pipe

If you want to do a pressure test of your plumbing, I think you have the right plan. For the return side you can disconnect the SWG and connect your pressure test rig to it. Plug returns at the pool side. For the suction side, you'll want to connect it before or after the 3-way valve...

How low can the flow get before needing to backwash

You should backwash when your pressure rises 25% above the clean pressure. So, for your clean pressure of 15 psi you'd aim to backwash around around 18-19 psi. https://www.troublefreepool.com/blog/2019/01/18/pool-filter-comparison/

How much air bubble in the return jet is acceptable?

Can you turn off that return? That would help you isolate if it's truly a leak on that line or if the bubbles are from the SWG and just taking that path.

    New construction

Congrats! Have you had a chance to go out and check it with a level yet? Now that you have water, an easy way to check for level is to take a tape measure and measure the distance between the water and the top lip at various point.

    Muriatic acid PSA

I don't doubt that this is the more economical way to go about it, but I am leery of my ability to safely dispense MA from a full container like that. I find the gallon sized container pretty easy to pour at a slow steady pace in front of my returns. Do you have any tips on using the large...
